Renting/DRO

Does anyone know whether I would be able to rent a house with a DRO (Debt Relief Order)? I'm married (I'm a student with scholarship - thus have a guaranteed income) and my husband works full time. We have a working/homeowner guarantor.

It might be OK. Is the DRO satisfied or ongoing? My daughter managed it once she could show the DRO was satisfied, but had to pay a bigger deposit. It also helped that she was in a decent job by then and the combined income of her & her partner was well above the amount to make the rent affordable. She was completely upfront with the LA concerned, as they didn't want to pay for the credit checks if this would mean they were refused. Probably best to speak with the LA about it.0

When you say 'satisfied' do you mean, either that it's been more than a year (the time in which the debts are wiped off) or the entire 6 year period?
It's been 18 months for me and I'm doing my best to improve my credit at this point but obviously having a DRO has a huge impact.
We are also in a fairly good financial position now...0 -
If it's been more than a year you're probably okay - there's no chance of it being revoked now, even if you rent somewhere much cheaper and had more disposable income as a result. Rent isn't a credit commitment, so shouldn't be affected by insolvency (unlike stuff like insurance), but you will find some landlords are sniffier about it than others.Mortgage
