New Build - FTTP Options?

Hi all,

Moved into a new build property about a month ago, connection is Fibre directly to the property (FTTP). Openreach finally connected everything up and I'm ready to place an order with an ISP.

Called SSE this morning as they seem one of the best Fibre deals but apparently they only provide fibre via cabinet (FTTC) and I now beleive other major providers like Sky, TalkTalk are the same.

BT is the only provider that seems to let me attempt to place an order at the moment but they are pretty expensive compared to SSE, Talk Talk etc.

My question is how do I know which providers supply FTTP and what are my options?

Many thanks.

I'm having trouble finding providers for FTTP as well. I think you need to search using your area of living as a search term.

I would stay away from SSE, they throttle/traffic management - a lot of people who recently took their cheap offer are complaining and exiting contracts early.

I think you had a lucky escape with SSE. (see other threads)

You could put your details into this.

It's worth looking at cashback sites Quidco Topcashback etc to see what's available at time of order, currently TCB offering £111 bb only up to £171 infinity 1 with TV

BT, Zen and AAISP are your choices.

BT are the cheapest by quite a bit.

Thanks for your help all. Gone with BT, got an ok deal as a new customer through the link on here.

Hopefully there maybe a few more providers this time next year, otherwise think I may struggle getting a good deal when renewing!

Plusnet offer it too, but only to existing customers.

With the cable link changes that Openreach are introducing (FTTP and FTTC go over the same link at the Exchange) this may encourage some of the smaller ISP's to offer FTTP as it'll reduce the need for them to buy additional cable links within the Exchange.
