How can I take advantage of the HelpToBuy ISA? Mortgage in husbands name only

Hello,
My husband bought (well, got a mortgage for) our house just before the help to buy ISA was released. I am not on the mortgage, its all in his name as I am not currently working.
As I understand it, I can open a HelpToBuy ISA and start saving. However, would I only be able to use this if we moved home in the future and bought a new house jointly? Or is there a way for me to be added to a fresh mortgage as a joint owner in the future on this home and unlock the HTB bonus?
Many thanks. I can't see us moving for a long time so not sure whether its worth overpaying on the mortgage or saving into a HTB ISA.

Is the house in your name?
As his wife I would assume it does not matter who owns it - as a couple you own a property, so you clearly do not need help!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Everything is in his name. I am named as living there though. He bought a 50% share of a shared ownership property as it was the only way to get on the ladder with only one income.0

Does anyone else kindly have any input?0
