New York Holiday statue of liberty

We had to New York on wednesday and was hoping to get up to the crown of the statue of liberty. Having checked every ticket site it seems to be booked up till october, is this normal? Is there any other way to get a crown ticket?

I just got to the museum. I think it was the duplicate to scale foot that really got the scale embedded in my head, not least as her big toenail was easily bigger than my sandal.

If you can't get tickets, don't grieve but mop up other amazing aspects instead.
There's Loads to do & see & experience - hoping you have a Brilliant time! (Plus any Christmas shopping you do will likely be seriously unique & thus MS?!)
