coop bank problems

over the last few mths I have noticed money disappearing from my account.

the account is a "basic" account with no overdraft facility (not wanted or needed)

due to this I decided to switch banks and moved to Lloyds , they set up the "account transfer"

the account was due to move and my old account close on the 30th june.

I had 3 debit card paymrents due to go out , and this figure was shown clearly (amount balance and amount available)

I withdrew all but 3p from the account at my local PO and deposited that with Lloyds in person,

total showing in my account was £25.03 , but available was 3p the card payments were £25.00

Lloyds moved the 3p over , so I thought that the account was effectively finished.

the following morning , the 3 debit card payments went out (£0.00 account and £0.00 available) however a refund arrived in my account from paypal/ebay for £7.79p , this was clearly shown as money going in (account balance and available). I spoke to Lloyds and asked them when it would be forwarded to them , they rung coop transfer team and they said there were 4 outstanding debit card payments due

I contacted the coop and asked what those payments were for , they then said there were non and (recorded) the £7.79 would be forwarded to Lloyds later in the day.

woke up this morning

1: £7.79 has now been changed to £2.75
2: no other card payments are showing
3: the puzzling one? the line where it showed a deposit is now not there

where is my £7.79?

how come there is £ £2.75 showing when there is no record of any money paid in (Lloyds emptied it then day before)

and how come this £2.75 has not been forwarded to Lloyds?

having been with the coop for over 8 yrs , with only one bounced DD , in the last 3 mths 4 DD s have failed , as each time my account has been £3-£5 short , when I know the correct funds were in there.

with this being the final payment going in , it stands out

having spoken to coop this morning they basically called me a lyer and suggested nothing had been paid in , however I gave them a copy of the paypal payment , then asked them how £2.75 could be there if Lloyds had emptied the account?

suggestions please

Firsly no need for all the g a p s between the lines.
Have you had the closing statement from the coop?
If not then ask them for a copy.
Take it from there - it could be that a card payment was made which you had forgotten about OR had not been earmarked at point of sale.

I have only online banking , so no end statement.
there have not been any card payments made , apart from the 3 that where known about.
as stated above , I emptied the account the day or 2 days before it was due to be closed , leaving only the money that was on hold for the 3 payments + a token 3p.

Lloyds did their thing and transferred all moneys to their account (3p) and the account then showed account = £25 , available = £0.00.

the 3 payments went out as planned , and for a moment showed account = £0.00 available £0.00, however a refund from ebay arrived and showed as account =£7.79 available £7.79 , this was not forwarded to Lloyds .

the following morning no money has been added or removed from the account , but it now shows £2.25 how can that be?. the top line on the online banking that showed a payment from paypal has disappeared as well

I'd be more worried about the disappearing money over the last few months than the missing credit.
Check your account on Monday when everything has updated, if you still think it's wrong, call Lloyds and ask them to sort it out.

looking back over the last 6y mths online statements and reading thru emails showing payments and ebay refunds , at least 3 are not shown on the bank statements , however I would have checked them at the time

I was with the coop , Lloyds are just taking the account over and I have only used my Lloyds debit card twice now

Because you've switched to Lloyds, if you used the Current Account Switch Service they should sort out any missing credits from your old account.

Lloyds would only look at credits missing from date of switch anything from months previously OP would need to ask the Coop.
I wonder how many cards OP has linked to his Paypal account - I have 2 - a credit card and a debit card and I have to check which one to use. Maybe this has happened to OP and the credits are on a different card.

between 08.10 and 08.15 this morning someone manually went into my account and amended it , however there are four problems

1: they had not got access to who had paid or who I had paid those amounts to, and instead of full details (like the other ones) just say purchase "other" and refund "other

2: there are no debit card sales for £2.74 been made

3: 3 x personal bank transfers of small amounts made by instant transfer over the weekend are not showing

4: why the f!$% is that money in a closed account when the speedy change guarantee states that money will be moved to your new account immediately
