Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
It's the village fete and fest today. School fete on the green, gymkana on the field by the village hall, and the usual beer tent. Last night we had a return visit from the Dolly tribute act. We will Andre down to the green and see what's going for the fete.
The sun keeps coming and going OH says the wind is quite strong, he is out in the garden, I am still lazing around in bed.
We had a good visit with my quilting friend yesterday. I took with me some of the things I have been working on, came home without half of them, she started her Christmas shopping!! I will have to sort out some more fabric and make some more zipper bags. We had a reasonable journey home, thank goodness, no rain to slow things down, just the usual bottle necks.
Time to get up........0 -
Congratulations to MrsLW and family. Great news, wishing your DD2 a good pregnancy. Xx0

DGS Ben has gone off back to Norwich for a month so his brother henry is a happy boy as he can pinch his bedroom back for awhile :)When Ben's home Henry has has to share with his next brother up Jack .Henry is a tidy boy who hates any mess, the total opposite of Jack who is a bit untidy
Only one more week until our Race for Life I do hope the weather will be kind to us, not too hot but dry with a slight wind would be nice.
Mila : quiz nights are held in the UK usually either in a pub or village hall and folk get a team together and pay a set amount towards the prizes and the rest usually goes to a charity.Last nights quiz night was in aid of a local asthma charity, and the proceeds after the prizes and including the raffle ticket cash was just under £700.
I run a team weekly at a local Pub and our prizes are normally a couple of bottles of wine ,but we do get a small meal at half time, and for £2.00 (about $3.00) its a good night out with lots of sociable chat and friendly rivalry with the other teams.Quizzing is very popular in the UK, and our TVs have quite a few general knowledge shows.Don't know if they are done in the US at all but its a great way to have a nice night out for very little outlay.
Weather is a bit nicer today at the moment and I put a line of washing out just now and I'm hoping to get it dried and ironed by tonight.
Hope everyone has a good day what ever you are doing

We had a Race for Life at school yesterday we raised about £5000 I think.
My DGS ran for his cousin Jessie, she is 5 and is battling leukaemia, at least 4 of DGS's class mates said 'You're stupid, you are meant to be running for someone with cancer, not leukaemia.'
He took great pleasure in explaining that it was a form of cancer and so he wasn't stupid.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Congratulations Mrs LW!I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

I am missing Judi's posts, I hope she is OK, and missing news of the Baby House.
I'm fine thanks. Got back yesterday from a month by the seaside. The weather was changeable but not too bad. We have been going to the same site for 10 years now and thought we knew the beaches nearby inside out but still managed to find a couple of new ones.
The main idea was that hubby was going to find a bit of part time work whilst he was down there. He had been offered full time work as an electrician but he didnt want that. He'd also been offered part time work on a couple of caravan sites but they wanted him for the season so that didnt work either but he recons he's going to go for it next year. I told him i'd think about it if we can come home every couple of weeks for a weekend.
The election. Hubby feasted on Sky News all night of the election and for the following few days too. Whilst he was there he found out the company he was sub contracting to had gone bump. Fortunately they didnt owe him any money as he had been off work for a couple of weeks before they went down. However, the main builder has taken over the retirement complex hubby and youngest were working on and hubby is back to work on Monday. Youngest as yet, hasnt been called back on site.
Youngest was ill whilst we were away with his hayfever. He'd taken his medication down with him but it didnt work. He tried to get an appointment as an emergency patient where he was working but they couldnt fit him for a few days so he came home, saw his own GP who was as useless as a rubber leg. Last ditch attempt was when i told him to go to the walk in clinic at our local hospital. Despite the wait, the medication worked and just as he was going back to work he found out he was being made redundant.
Two weeks into my month away i got a bit paranoid about the laundry. The plan was to take the laundry to the local launderette but i couldnt cope with that and was missing home so we came back for the weekend. Good job we did, came home to a broken settee after youngest had his mates in. Blasted livid i was (am) and he has been told he is paying for it to be fixed or replaced if it cant be fixed. He's not getting away with it.
Got back yesterday to a fridge full of rotting food. Thats another earbashing he has got coming when he wakes up from his all nighter. I did ring him but he said he was hardly in and didnt open the fridge. The smell hit us as soon as we opened the door! Ive emptied the fridge totally and have put a bowl of baking soda inside to absorb the smell. Ive bleached the interior and anti bac wiped it but the smell is lingering.
Need to fit in shopping sometime today but i need to give the fridge another go first.
The Baby house. I must admit. I'm a bit out of touch since the girls have appointed managers. The girls are now able to focus on supporting the poor people in the community.
Have a browse through the website. The work they do is amazing. Well i think so but i'm a tad biased.

Hi all,
Feeling better today. As long as I stay on oxygen I am okay. OH was phoned by my cousin, who gave him an earful for not being here. Think it frightened him. Trouble is, he is a bit of an ostrich, if he doesn't think about it, it's not happening. Anyway he is doing everything for me. Hospice nurses have been in to see me too. :T
Had a fancy for toad in the hole for dinner. Had to make the batter myself because I couldn't tell him quantities! I do it by "feel"!:rotfl:
Glad to see a lot of you still posting.
Enjoy the rest of the day xI Believe in saving money!!!:T

Hilstep hope you are getting lots of tlc. Congrats MrsLW.
AOB laughing at the disaster date. Gers Ozzie waves back - while demanding a walk. It was persisting down first thing so he wasn't interested. I went out and did all my bits. He's definitely interested now, so we will head out before I start the rest of the chores.
Enjoy your day everyone.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0
