ps COXY have a lovely weekend and enjoy your me-time. We usually have a day in York each summer as it's only a half an hour train ride from the station in Harrogate, which, in it's turn, is a short drive from our caravan."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Morning everyone,
Dry, bright and sunny here at the moment, fingers crossed it lasts.
Car has been dropped off for its service and told them about the leak so they will check it out for me. Have been going to the garage in the village for years so know me well, never feel that as a woman that patronise me and always do a good job for reasonable price.
Unlike JL who have let us down badly with the delivery of new FF, it was supposed to come yesterday between 2 and 9pm, got a phone call at 3.45 to say it wouldn't be coming as hadn't arrived from the distribution centre  several phone calls later still don't know when it's meant to arrive despite a rushed order supposedly being placed, could be Monday but maybe not! Am absolutely furious and have said so, the customer service assistant was a real choc teapot, really vague and fluffy and she was told so.
We have brought our old fridge back in from the garden but the freezer is now in the shed so will have to live without that until all that is sorted. We appreciate things can go wrong but it's how you deal with that that counts and at the moment JL are not covering themselves in glory
Anyways, rant over, have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -
Good Morning everyone, although I'm not being entirely accurate with the description as it's damp, grey windy and cool ..... AGAIN, dontcha just love british summer?
Off to town today to see if I can find either a shoe insert or an ankle support to help with my plantar fasciitis as I'm sore at the moment. I'll also go into the £1 shop and invest a fiver in some soap and toiletries to go into store, I'm using all the spare I can generate at the moment just in case prices rise or supply becomes erratic.
Poor Boris Johnson last night, hopes all come to nothing through treachery from a so called supporter and friend. Michael Gove, the man who did for education what Jeremy Hunt has done for the NHS!!! love him or loath him I feel sorry for poor old Boris this morning!
LAINEY Grrrrr over the fridge freezer, John Lewis are usually very good on keeping to what they promise, hope you haven't lost too much food from spoilage, you might enquire if they would pay compensation if you did, it might just be a YES?
Have yourselves a nice day all, off for the bus, Lyn xxx.0 -

Hello everyone
Thank you so much JackieO for starting a new thread. My dh and I are sitting watching the coverage of The centenary of the battle of the Somme. So moving and beautiful. In our city we have barracks called Thiepval as it is a garrison city. I have a little housework to do today and am hoping yet again that I can manage to cut the grass. My dh isn't working today so he is cooking tonight
I have a little washing to do later, and tonight I shall be knitting. I have made our dear little grandson a stocking for Christmas and am going to put the finishing touches to it perhaps tomorrow. My dear daughter his Mummy, really appreciates home made things, so although I am only learning it is a joy to make something nice and unique for him
Have a good day everyone Margaret
Do a little kindness every day.;)0 -
Afternoon all
Thanks for the welcome back
I had antenatal appt first thing so have been up since 7am, popped to shops after and have just been lazing ever since.
Not much OS from me today, WM been on, had to put some stuff in TD as it's raining here and not everything dries well on the airer despite having window open. After lunch I'm going to tackle the mound of baby items in various piles in nursery so that we have a clear space to set the cot up over weekend. Also need to take kitten to vet for her final check up after being done last week. Tonight we shall be watching the football, but OH has promised me that we can go for a walk or something when he gets home. We may be lazy and order a takeaway tonight as he has worked long hours this week.

I have taken in the same load of washing three times now! Dark clouds again so have just taken it inside to hang on an airer.
Builder has just finished off the flooring in the hall and conservatory and I am so glad I got it done and did not just "make do". Middle dd is calling round tonight and staying over so want to do a quick tidy round before she arrives. Hoping to have lunch with a couple of dds tomorrow but not sure if we are going out or I am cooking here.
As not cooking for anyone else tonight will have something quick and simple either a diet ready meal or maybe an omelette.
Hugs to all especially MrsL and newroadahead."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon.
Dark clouds here too though only small short-lived showers so far.
I spent a great of today trying to upgrade my Mum's laptop to W10 and it failed so she's back at W7. I'm happy to leave it now as she's used to it and can manage it well.
Later I went to the pharmacy for her to get a couple of items under the 'minor ailments scheme' which is free, she's delighted.
Got my test results back and I'm free of heart disease and bloods are all normal too. Just got fingers crossed for the boys now.
Tried to start a John Grisham book but just can't. Don't like the generic formulaic writing style / story.0 -
