I can't believe they fell through the roof!! Have you managed to sort anything?

Was MIA last month as it's my wedding a week tomorrow and I'm trying to get everything sorted. It was all sorted but had a few disasters so had to sort them out... oh the joy!

I'm not even sure when I last bought some toiletries, I've had a number of UUs that I can only remember a handful of as well.

I definitely have a lot more space since starting this challenge, I no longer have items forgotten about in random drawers. I made a point of UU all of them when I started and now I'm targeting my non-cruelty free items. I have my main make up and then one large bag of other make up and that's it. I don't stash shower gel/shampoo/conditioner anymore and don't buy until I need to. My main issue is body lotions and hair products as I don't use them that often... but I'm trying!

I also prefer having a new thread each month, especially for times like this where it's easy to pick up again.

Have a one in and one out situation
    UU
    75ml Silvikrin Hairspray 2/48
    IN
    75ml Elnett Hairspray 1/49

Trying to be disciplined and not buy, staying away from chemist and supermarket beauty aisles, but have a couple of items on order, namely a Philip Kingsley trial size Body & Shine set for weekend bag, ordered to make up to free postage with my BF's birthday present and from Feelunique as I had a £10 voucher, a Real Techniques Powder Brush and Urban Decay Naked2 Basics Palette. I may be returning the Bare Minerals palette I bought recently as the colours on my eyelids are not as palette, but will have one more play with it before I decide. I have rarely returned things to QV*, but it is a really useful feature of their service.

  • For those who have asked - this place is rented, so it's between the roofers and our landlady to sort out now.

They finished the roof though and did a really good job with it. The true test was last night we had some heavy showers and everything is still dry so what they have done has worked.

The part the guy fell through was a corner and it was damp and mouldy anyway, plus there were birds and things in there so it was only a matter of time.

Now with a brand new roof and a gaping great hole between the roof and us hopefully things will dry out quickly to then be able to be repaired.
  • Thanks for the new thread Gemzie121!
I'm a bit late to the party this month - I seem to be appointment central at the moment and haven't been on the thread much. I'm in again though of course!
Blimey, gemmajenkins0208, that all sounds like a nightmare!

I'm starting the month with a stash total of 476. Ideally I'd like to get to 450 this month but it's my birthday so I imagine there may be some INs. A more realistic goal might be to not go past 500 again!
Do have some UUs already though:
    1. Ikea white floral candle. WDBA. Simple, pleasant floral scent. Got a few more in the stash.
    2. Tresemme Oleo deep conditioning masque thing. WDNBA. This was like rubbing body butter into my hair, so difficult to wash out. The scent was weird too. I thought it was ok but then I'd get a whiff of BO!
    3. 17 Sculpting Brow Pencil. WDBA. Love this. Had one more in stash so I've opened that and will grab another to have on standby.
    4. Nuxe Nuxellence Jeunesse mini. WNBA. I've been through a few of these - they were in every beauty box for a while. I do like it but I think it's discontinued. I think there are cheaper alternatives that are as good.
    5. Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder. WNBA. Technically I only used about 80% of this then I dropped it and it shattered so the other 20% is in my hoover. I'm claiming it as a UU though! I don't think it's anything special and it's a bit too tinted for me. I pulled out my L'Oreal BB powder once this was gone and immediately hit pan on it! Yay!
    6. Garnier Micellar Water. WDBA. This was the smaller 125ml size. I have a large one on the go.

And one TA. I absolutely could not get on with the MUA Brow Pencil I bought a few weeks ago. It's far too soft for a brow pencil so I tried it as eyeliner instead and it just smeared everywhere. No good.

I also have INs. I made a LA Girl order. I've been watching a lot of YouTube beauty videos recently - and I mean a lot. Saw a few people mentioning the LA Girl BB Cream. I'm having trouble finding a decent foundation at the moment and I prefer something lighter in summer anyway so I ordered this. Wasn't sure about colour so I ordered the two lightest ones - I had a code which basically meant one of them was free. They look quite different in the tube but on my face I couldn't tell the difference so they both work! I've only used it for 2 days but I'm impressed. It covered more redness than I thought it would and lasted pretty well through a particularly hot day at work. Also got the concealer, a brown auto eyeliner and two gel pencil liners in Champagne and Frosted Taupe. Those two are beautiful.

If anyone has any other light foundation/BB Cream/CC Cream recommendations I'd be glad to hear them!

I'm off to bed to watch a woman decluttering her blusher drawers on YouTube. Because that's what 28-year olds do on a Friday night, right? :)

Deleted_User - I really like the Revlon Colourstay foundation and the Max Factor 3 in 1 foundation, they both come in very light shades but not always available in Boots stores (Superdrug is better) but they do have them online.

    I have a uu

L'oreal Everpure Colour Care Serum 50ml - WNBA, I won this in a competition, nothing to get excited about.

I repainted my nails last night with Nails Inc Charring Cross Road, nice colour but it is one of those chalky pinks which are very difficult to apply.

I tried a Waterblend water based foundation from Make Up Forever in Debenhams this week. Very light. Didn't cover red veins but did cover the generalised redness on my cheeks very well, felt very refreshing. They also had a good variety of light shades with no orange and very, very little yellow in them.

VALM - I like the Bare Minerals Prime Time primer and the L'oreal Lumi but my favourite is probably the Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver, smells gorgeous and glides on beautifully.

I have a uu (sort of)

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation - this was a 5 day sample that the SA put in a pot for me, she colour matched me to the second to lightest colour but it is way, way too orange, I have used this for about 10 days altogether and have chucked out what is left, you only need a bit so if you like it it is good value. I found it thick and oily and it separates half way through the day. It does cover everything though.

Thanks dolly, I like a silicone based primer myself. My NYX tube is really squished now and I'll be cutting it open tomorrow. Will have a look and see what deals are online. I only have a sample tube of the No 7 one now.

gemma - how awful, hope it all gets sorted out.

VALM/Gemzie - I think you may need to use a full 1kg bag of the Epsom salts to get the best results.

    .

Gemma, that does sound awful. Hooe Tge workmen repair the damage quickly and well for you.

Dolly to be fair the packaging did give instruction to use a lot of the salts in each bath but I'm too mean!
