Deleted_User - I really like the Revlon Colourstay foundation and the Max Factor 3 in 1 foundation, they both come in very light shades but not always available in Boots stores (Superdrug is better) but they do have them online.
Thanks dolly84. I haven't tried either of those. I've had a different Revlon one (photofinish?) which I didn't like but think it's a different consistency so will have a look. Again with Max Factor, haven't tried that one but have the Blur& Nourish which is ok but it smells incredibly strongly of popcorn!

I tried a Waterblend water based foundation from Make Up Forever in Debenhams this week. Very light. Didn't cover red veins but did cover the generalised redness on my cheeks very well, felt very refreshing. They also had a good variety of light shades with no orange and very, very little yellow in them.
Thanks Tolteca87. I've seen a lot of good reviews about that one. Not sure if my local Debenhams stocks this but I'm going into town tomorrow so I'll have a look. Lack of yellow is useful! I think I'm fairly neutral so I do struggle to find a good shade because a lot of brands cater for cool and warm but not neutral.
While in Debenhams I might have a look at the Urban Decay One and Done, which looks nice but online the light shade doesn't look very light.

I did experiment today with mixing my Tarte clay foundation (too pale and too thick) with my No7 Superlight (too dark despite being colour matched in store ) and that seemed to work quite well so hopefully they won't go to waste now. :)
  • Oh, and I have more UUs. Yay!
    7. Garnier Oil Beauty Body Lotion. WDBA. I really like this. I've had it upside down for a week so I could get everything out. I have the Olive version of it to try.
    8. Lush Dark Angels Scrub. WDNBA. Bought this as a face scrub but was too harsh for me. Used up as body scrub and it was an absolute nightmare. Stuck to my skin, so hard to get off. Stained my shower puff beyond saving. Had to scrub the bath after. Glad it's gone.
    9. Candle Belle Hot Summer Nights Wax Melt. WMBA. Not sure how to describe the scent of this. I did like it but the scent throw is not the best.

And a TA. My Sanctuary Spa Body Lotion separated and wouldn't mix back together. WNBA because it's too runny, it's more like a milk. I do love the scent though and have a body butter of it in the stash.
Hope everyone's enjoying their weekends :)

Some INs for me, but within my monthly budget of £20 plus whatever vouchers or gift cards I can scrounge (and there were a few of those this month):
Vichy Aqualia Serum - this is amazing and I've just used my previous pot up, makes a huge difference to my skin
Vichy day moisturiser - my other day moisturiser is spluttering (admittedly a cheapy Garnier one that was £1.25 - but one in, one out, fine . . .)
Rimmel Colourist mascara, supposed to tint eyelashes darker over time, mine are invisibly fair
Rimmel Sculping Pallette - because Rimmel was buy one, get one half price, and I only have nine highlighters and eighteen blushes . . .
NYX lipstick in Strawberry Daquiri, I think I fell for this just because of the name but actually the colour is lovely too

Plus one UU, the aforementioned Vichy serum. This makes a huge difference to my early-30s fine lines and it's noticeable if I miss more than a couple of days of application.

So that's me on the naughty step, or at least the "you don't have any more budget for that young lady" step, for the rest of the month :rotfl:

Deleted_User, I looove decluttering videos - whose are you watching? Beauty with Emily Fox is doing a series at the moment that I'm enjoying - I think she's the only non-project panner that I really watch, because she's Canadian and therefore I can't buy the things she raves about!

    !
please update how you get on with that mascara! Mine are quite dark but light on the ends so look shorter than they actually are. I read a daily mail article saying it was good, but it was sponsored so who knows :rotfl: interested to try it though.

Hi catherine/kate! The ones I watched most recently were by ItsKeerstin. I stumbled across them and she seems really down to earth and funny, I watched some of her hauls too. The decluttering ones are quite old but in a recent video she said she's going to do them again. Also watched Tati's Makeup Graveyard series but I prefer the format of people literally going through their drawers and swatching as they go. I've also watched Jessica Braun and Julia Graf. Once you've watched a few Youtube just starts recommending them to you and it never ends! I don't know why I like them so much but I prefer them to makeup collection ones. Although I watch some of those and think, 'At least I'm not that bad!'

Also, on the Vichy front, I've had that serum too and liked it but I've also been through a few sample tubes of the Vichy Idealia Serum, and the Idealia Skin Sleep I think it's called. They are both lovely too. If my stash wasn't so stupid I think I would stump up the cash for that range. :)

I have 2 UU to report:

Sanctuary body scrub 50ml- WBA this was the original sanctuary scent, which I love. It was just the right amount of scrubby for me - exfoliating without being too harsh or scratchy. Leaves a lovely smell that sticks around on the skin. Loved this. Small tube did me 3 applications so not too bad. Need to find a scrub from stash to replace this - don't need to buy any more yet as I have tons!!

TBS vitamin e toner 60ml - WBA did the job fine and smelled very pleasant. I think the aloe one did suit my skin better in that it was less moisturising (I get oily skin) but for dry skin this is great. Still very happy with it. The small bottle lasted a good while. Got more of these in stash so will find a toner to replace this tomorrow (this was from work sleep in bag).

I found an Ebayer yesterday who sells 3ml sample sizes of Tarte foundation. I tried Emma's Light Sand yesterday and whilst the colour was not bad I could do with a shade darker so trying the Light Honey. The Bare Minerals Bareskin one I'm using at the mo is feeling quite light so maybe only a weeks worth, maybe? I don't like the feel of this on my skin and don't feel like I am applying enough. Have been topping it with BB cream and Balance n Brighten.

I don't like Tati but love Jessica Braun. Like watching her Disney blogs too. I'm not big on decluttering videos because I find myself appalled at the sheer volumes these people have. Do love panning and empties videos though.
