Is your stash definitely going down? Are you seeing bare space where parts of your stash used to be and now using said bare space to house more important things?
My stash has gone down a lot, although there is still a long way to go. I have also stopped buying all the time. I used to go into Boots or Superdrug every week and buy something and now I go about once a month and don't buy a lot. It has also made me really look at my cosmetics. I used to have drawers full of cosmetics in every colour. But I have realised I am not someone who is always experimenting with OTT arty make-up looks. I just don't need 10 shades of lipstick and 30 shades of eyeshadow. I used to have one of those big metal beauty boxes and now I have a couple of make-up bags. My big pink glittery beauty box now holds my DIY tools! :rotfl:0 -
I'd love to join the 7 by Autumn challange though, and I've pulled out the following as areas/items I really need to work on:
...
- Josh Wood Light blonde instant root concealer spray - no idea what this does (is it for grey coverage, or does it work on dark roots?!), it's just been in my cupboard for ages :P I will use it, find out what it is, and get rid of it!
Well I found out what this does - makes your roots really sticky feeling and greasy looking! Straight in the bin with that  It wasn't easy to wash out either.
So an update to the challenge for Autumn - I'm going to replace that in the list with:
- my small remaining stash of bath products (2 very old Lush bath bombs, Tisserand Sweet Dreams bath oil 20ml, and M&S Morroccan Escape bath essence 50ml) - so I can then shop properly for yummy bath stuff once these are all goneProbably lovely fresh new Lush stuff.

My unnecessaries were in a drawer, but when I did some tidying up and rearranging back when I had some time off work in May, I put my stash in the drawer(neatly!) and my unnecessaries on and around a small tray thing on top of the drawers, so as I use items up, I'll slowly see the top of the drawers get emptier and emptier until there's nothing left
Just so you know, there is supposed to be something else on top of the drawers, not unnecessary toiletries! :rotfl:
I keep everything in a drawer under my bed (which is all buckled under the weight). It's not seeming much emptier but mainly because I have a lot of body lotions and face masks. Some of my other categories like skincare have reduced massively. I think eventually I'll have a manageable tidy drawer. As I said last month though, it's amazing how long it takes to use particular things up!Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
Thank you to those who answered my question. It's just so liberating picking up something to use, using it for the last time, throwing the empty container away and enjoying the new found space said item once occupied
As I said before some of my unnecessaries are either very old or not quite fit for purpose. I don't wear makeup very often at all and everything on my UU list is opened, I've had a good tidy up this morning while I can(with it being Sunday and not having much going on) and...
Wilko skin therapy cotton pads
2x Simple eye makeup remover pads
3x Wilko functional face wipes
No. 7 soft and soothed toner
Simple purifying cleansing lotion
Nivea express hydration primer - TA. Binned this as it had been open for ages anyway and I just couldn't see me using it all up before it went bad.
FCUK for her
Impulse vanilla kisses - This feels very light now so expecting it to be UU this month.
Rimmel BB cream - TA. Been open for ages and started smelling funny. I had to start shaking it to mix it up before application.
Avon colourtrend black eyeliner - TA. Only ever used this once and it's been open for around 3 months now. Wouldn't risk it at all with eye makeup.
Avon supershock black mascara - TA. Same as above.
Ciate glitterball mini
Gillette shave foam - This is starting to feel light so hoping to see the back of this soon!
Dove firming lotion
2x Dove shower cream
Adidas firming shower gel
Carmex lip balm with SPF
I need to try and get a firm skincare routine in place before even attempting to wear makeup more often, and I feel that in trying to use up these unnecessaries, that'll help me
Luckily all my other makeup is still firmly sealed :rotfl:0 -
I've got some Heathcote and Ivory rose eau de toilette en route, as an NBI. The Manuka Doctor foot cream is spluttering, but everything else is going down very slowly as the rush of NBIs to review has hugely increased the number of products on rotation.
After confessing to multiple lipbalm ownership I was promptly offered a set to review. (Burt's Bees). I have left them, needless to say!
Offered a lovely set of Heathcote and Ivory handcream minis but it always gets used up as foot cream, so will let them go.
On the appliance front, I got this
It's a heated comb, worked surprisingly well for me, so got 5 stars, though I can see that it wouldn't work for all.
My favourite hair thing is my hot air paddle brush, drying your hair with that is totally blissful, like having an Indian head massage in a warm breeze.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Offered these bathing flowers too, utterly beautiful, but taking baths is very tricky for me with my arthritis. I managed one about a month ago, it has to be showers usually though. This challenge is helping me so much - I haven't opening any other products because I'm focusing on using the ones I've listed. It's also giving me a chance to use a product properly and make an informed decision as to whether it's any good. Thanks!0

I have some uu's
Original Source Raspberry & Cocoa Shower Gel 250ml - WNBA, I don't think these are that good value as we use them quicker than any other shower gel.
Leighton Denny Meet me on Venus 4.5ml - WBA but can't, I'm really sorry to see this go.
Ciate Shooting Stars mini - this has about half left but the design of the bottle means I can't load the brush plus it is very streaky and I have to apply 3 coats.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
