I have a condition that could (but most probably not) improve in a couple of years, but I was awarded this rate for 5 years given the severity of where I am at now. (Over 20 points for care if they award all the points I should qualify for)

It seems there is no consistency as a year before I was only given basic mobility and no care despite it being obvious I needed more, but given I was so ill already we just took it as stress would probably have me a gibbering mound of gibber...we couldn't go thru tribunal...but of course after a year I was reassessed as '2 year award means after a year they are back on you' lol...so I made sure we had plenty of 'proof' from professionals. Even though I disagree with quite a bit of the points awarded I got the result I needed so I wasn't going to rock the boat :0

Aparently a progress letter was posted out last week and its atill with a case worker so no i wont have a decision this week but he did say its due to the workload and not my claim and that it would be sooner rather then later .... This 3 weeks has ben a constant stress and worry ... Cant take much more

It seems so variable. I've had a heart condition since birth, transplant that didn't go perfect and also developed paraplegia as a side effect of problems with the transplant. I have no hope in hell of ever recovering and will 100% deteriorate at some point as donor organs don't last forever - I was given an 18 month award at tribunal.

I know people with illnesses that will get better and their doctors attest to this (example, my brother in law who is in therapy and doing great and is really independent now and isn't likely to get ill again from the same thing) got awarded high rate, both components and for 5 years!

I have Rheumatoid arthritis which is classed as chronic. My PIP application (no previous DLA) went through without an assessment- well, I waited for months, had an appointment letter, attended the assessment centre but told it had been cancelled and I would here "shortly". Award letter arrived a couple of days later.
It was Capita rather than Atos due to my location.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

    UPDATE

I rang pip this morning and they have said they sent out my award letter yesterday . I have been awarded daily living untill 2020 . No award for mobility ( i had low on dla ) i disagree with this but untill i see what pointa i have been awardes for what i wont be able to comment ... Due to the stress and anxiety this whole process has caused i dont think i can go theough asking for a reconsideration either . If i did ask for a reconsideration i would also be without any money as my dla stops 24th aug as they have made a decision .

So whole process took just under 10 weeks ... Decision just under 4 weeks from all info text/letter .

Good luck to everyone waiting and hold on in there ... I know its a horrible anxious time xx
