Why being so angry when he hasn't even been turned down? We get assessed at many different stages in our lives even when we know it is only as a tick box exercise because the process has to be fair for everyone.

My friend was telling me yesterday that despite doing a job she was promoted to as a secondment for 5 years (was only supposed to be 1), she now need to apply and go for an intensive interview process to be offered the job on a permanent basis. She is almost certain to be getting the job as she has done it with high praise all this time, but she still has to go through the process.

It's a good thing she is not going around complaining how angry she is with the unfairness of it and just getting on with it.

I wouldn't worry too much, people seem to only post horror stories,

I had to have a f2f for transfer from DLA to PIP the nurse wasn't here long as she could see what was wrong with me,

I went from LRC and LRM to high for both and that wouldn't have happened with my usual paper based one,

My partner as now put in a claim for carers allowance and we have been told she will now get this.

Just to be clear, I do not have a problem with my son having a F2F interview as it will be clear to whoever comes that he has a learning disability and special needs, but I think after sending off 7 different reports from 7 different medical people outling his disabilities, of which is never going to change, I have also asked for his DLA file to be sent over and taken into consideration also, this as far as I am aware has not happened.
Anyway he has his interview on Tuesday and he will probably not be able to understand or able to answer their questions fully

Welcome to the world of the stubburn, incompetent and stupid DWP.

They are only incompetent and stupid when they are not paying out. However, we the taxpayer employ them to make sure the correct people are receiving our money and if that involves jumping through some hoops so be it!

I NEVER understand why people get so annoyed about this. We are not talking pennies here.

The issue is that the hoops are not appropriate for assessing the disability, and jumping through them requires a disproportionate amount of difficulty.

A classic example: if someone cannot use the toilet and so has no access to the world of work, asking them if they can carry things is irrelevant.

However if in time their condition has got better or worse the assessments will highlight this.

  • Can't see the problem here. Have the assessment done and you'll either get a positive outcome which you expect anyway or a negative one which may mean that the assessment goes against you.
