Any luck claiming from Eurowings/Germanwings

Hi,
we experienced a 27 hour delay with Eurowings flying from puerto plata to germany, to our connecting flight a couple of days later with another airline. We have followed Martins advice and written to the airline. When we phone them they said to send the information and they would let us know in two weeks the outcome, however they have not responded at all.
I don't want this to all be a hugh waste of time.
Has anyone else had any luck claiming from them? or any advice.
