Sky Question - Can sky change package if you select a channel you don't subscribe to?

Hi, I have just cut our sky subscription back to the basic bundle and, as expected, various channels have been removed. However, in the past, when we selected a channel outside of our package, there was a message on the screen telling us to ring sky if we wanted to upgrade. Since downgrading, this message has changed. The message now says "Press Sky then the red button to watch this channel". If we did this, does it mean that Sky would just go ahead and change our package to a more expensive one? Surely they would have to ask for some sort of confirmation such as our PIN or something? I am just concerned that this could be activated by accident. Thanks for any information on this.

I've downgraded recently and get the 'ring for upgrade' message. Not seen the other one - any particular channel that you get this on? I can't see pressing red button (which could done be by accident) could be taken as consent to change your package though?0

If you press the red button you will be taken to a page which allows you to upgrade your subscription. However, it's not possible to do this by "accident". Try pressing the red button and you will see that everything is password protected.
You also need your Sky box connected to the internet..0 -
Thanks for the info. I thought this must be the case but thought I would just check. Thanks again0
