gorilla glass screen protector

Hi, Obviously I ordered a screen protector for the correct model and the supplier insists that that is what he has sent. This may be true, but I am dubious, which is why I posted this query in the hope that people more experienced with smart phones and screen protectors could tell me if their protector covered the camera's flash without it affecting the quality of the photos being taken. If this is not the case I can then confidently challenge what the supplier is telling me. kje.0

I've never seen one that's covered any aperture. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit and it's the wrong one......If you post the make and model of phone we might be able to check for the correct one...
Not sure what people do to their phones on a daily basis, but, the glass is pretty tough....G4 Gorilla glass test..Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Covering the flash wont make a difference, but as mentioned above, if the proximity detector is covered then the phone may have a black screen during calls (as it thinks you have it pressed against your face) so it might make some functions difficult (ie typing numbers whilst on the phone, or seeing your call duration etc)
My definition of the "correct protector for this model of phone" wold be that it has cutouts in all the right places.
If it doesnt then it isnt, and is more likely a cheaper generic one0 -
If you got it on eBay open a "not as described" dispute. The chances are you'll get a refund and can order one from another seller.
I was given my current phone and fitted a glass screen protector mainly because there was a small scratch on the screen. It doesn't impair the proximity sensor.0 -

Hi again, A big thank you to all the people who took the trouble to offer helpful advice, it is much appreciated and it's given me lots to think about. I will contact the supplier again and reject the protector that I've been sent and I will also research how the proximity detector feature works on my phone before proceeding. Thanks again kje.
By the way, the protector was bought from amazon not ebay and my phone is a Samsung J5 - I will search for any further details that may identify my phone even more precisely and post them later in case that helps to better identify exactly which screen protector I should order.0 -
I'm guessing the difference lies more with the screen protector than the phone. Mine has a sizeable aperture at the top with leaves the lens, a speaker, a charge led, and something else uncovered which I can't specifically identify. It did with my mothers Galaxy s3 mini

I installed https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=asd.vector.sensor snd and from experiment can see that my proximity sensor and ambient light sensor are both in the uncovered portion of the screen. I'm guessing they are in the small oblong "window" that I can see behind the screen glass.0
