Warn you about Tesco.com overcharging

Three weeks ago I received a Tesco grocery delivery and a multisaver BOGOF Rolo/Milky Bar lollies was not credited I rang up and was credited the difference and an apology a 'one off'. The next week all my mulisavers were overcharged 30 items a value of £14.00 yet again an assurance it would not happen again a little bit harder to get the credit this time and the lollies were still not creditted - second week running. I was assured this was another 'one off' my concern was how when the items were scanned could this be a one off surely everyone would not have received their discounts.
Well this week my delivery arrived and yet another 'one off' my lollies still not BOGOF so they had ignored my previous two calls and treated me with contempt. When I rang last night and got my regular refund/apology I felt as tho I was branded a problem customer when the problem is all theirs.
Antbody else had any 'one offs' think this is a bigger problem than they are admitting too.

Tesco.com overcharge me for my shopping very often. They are *appalling* in this respect (IMHO).

Like you, I have rung up about over charges one week, been given the standard apology and promise to correct the error, only to have the same item overcharged on my next shop.

Online customers get treated very shabbily in this respect. In store if you are charged too much, you get a full refund of the item price, and you keep the item. Online customers simply get the amount of the overcharge refunded.

The reality is Tesco consistently overcharge their online customers and I have a string of refunds to my credit card to prove this fact. Unless you are happy to accept their overcharging you have to go to the time and trouble of double checking your reciept everytime you shop with them. Then, you have the expense of ringing Tesco customer services on their 0845 number to get your own money back. You also then get to hear their meaningless and insincere apologies.

Tesco.com should be ashamed of themselves.

Dont use 0845 look on saynoto0870.com for 01382 number. This is obviously a big problem then lets club together and find out how big then we can contact .com for an explanation.

Asda are not so hot either, I've been waiting almost 4 weeks for a refund of £2 I was overcharged for some coffee on my last online shop.I've made 3 phone calls to them so far, & keep being told it will be chased up. I'll not be ordering from them again online in a hurry. >:(
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Received conflicting communication re their policy a team leader said the store policy of the item free does not apply to dot.com but later had an email from Wayne Hansen offering me the items free. Have since spoken to a Team leader re the inconsistency in the policy and she has re-affirmed the online policy as no free product. However she has refunded my £5.99 delivery. So it pays to be persistent.

I've decided recently that I'm tired of asking them to give me back the money they keep overcharging me. I don't think I'm going to bother anymore. I'm going to tackle this a different way.

I'll keep shopping with Tesco.com, and everytime they overcharge me I'm just going to write a quick letter to my local trading standards office and make an official complaint against Tesco. It'll be very easy to do, a quick print out of the relevant webpage showing the price displayed in the online store against the price actually charged on the shopping list that comes with the order.

Fair enough, if you are happy to allow Tesco to treat you that way, fine. I'm not.

Tesco overcharge me again and again and again, so the apologies are pretty meaningless - if they were actually sorry they'd simply make sure it stopped happening.

With the way modern pricing and checkout methods are arranged everytime you see an overcharge on your bill, it means many many other people have been ripped off as well. I wonder how many spot it?

I wouldn't mind if it was only occasionally, I understand that mistakes can happen, but this happens all the bloody time and I'm sick of it.
  • I'm going to do my first Tesco.com shop today/tomorrow so I'll be checking the receipt very carefully. Thanks for the info.

BTW - do they still take the online vouchers? Do I hand them to the driver?
  • Got my first delivery today. Nothing missing, nothing substituted. Also, got my multisaver discounts.

I didn't trust them with my fresh meat or fruit/veg apart from a few loose apples, so can't comment on being given out of date stuff. However, with the use of the discount codes I found on here, I can get them to deliver all the bulky and heavy stuff, effectively for nothing and that leaves me free to get my fresh stuff where and when I want.

    I'm all for an easier life ;D ;D ;D

The fresh fruit and veg. I get delivered from Tesco.com is on the whole of excellent quality and of the standard I would have chosen had I been to the shop to buy. I think it depends though on which store you get your delivery from, as the standard does seem to vary a lot.

Obviously they're not perfect, hence we have the customer service number to ring in case of any queries/
complaints (and I always find them very helpful and
    obliging).

As for being over-charged ... not happened to me yet, but I'm always vigilent.

    :)

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS
