Bit of a strange one this.
My bumper came loose and all I had was a length of duck tape just to get me home.
Its left a bit of residual tack on the bodywork so was looking for any tips on safely removing it?

thanks

You could try a bit of nail varnish remover but I would strongly suggest that you do this on an area that cannot be seen to see if it affects the paintwork.

Try meths. Nail varnish remover - dodgy.

Incidentally it's "duct tape" As used by installers of air ducts etc to seal between sections of ducting.

WD 40. Spray it on and let it soak for a short while. Soak a paper cloth and hold it on if its at an angle.

    It's also a brand name

Like others I use WD40 and a paper towel.

Me too but I've recently started using their degreaser.

I've used nail varnish remover for some super glue residue. Applying as small an amount as possible and having a bucket of warm soapy water at hand to wash the area thoroughly after you've applied it. Worked great and no damage to the paintwork.

But for sticky type residues from tape or stickers then another vote for WD40. I hear it also works wonders if you get a stolen car recovered and it's covered in the fingerprint powder the scenes of crime people use.
