A NSD today ( 2/12 NSD)
I am making an unexpected purchase so will be extra, extra, without funds this month now. So, I am upping my NSD target from 10 to 12 to help
My shopping budget is down too as I now have £20 a week for everything until payday in 3 week's time
Today my target is decluttering, gardening (and therefore exercise) and creating a haven of clean tranquility in my dining room/work room.:)
Meal planning is essential due to my new budget.
Here is this week's meal plan using stuff I already have
Breakfast
Yoghurt/Fruit/Seeds
Eggs
Lunch
Leftovers
Main meal
Aubergine and courgette curry and quinoa
Buckwheat pancakes with roasted veggies and feta
Lamb chops, sweetcorn and roasted veggies and tahini sauce

I use the Shopitize app, which rewards you with small amounts of money for buying certain products on offer that week on the app as long as they are from one of the main supermarkets (Iceland doesn't count I'm afraid)
I only buy products I could realistically see myself buying as you won't be saving money if you buy something you don't usually buy.
Before I buy anything though I go on the website 'MySupermarket' and type in the product name to see who is selling it cheapest. For instance recently Boursin was on offer. In Tescos it was £2 but in Morrisons it was £1, so i bought it from Morrisons as it was within walking distance and that means I saved even more money with it.
.
I used to do this too but a friend pointed out that every Tuesday when the new offers are released, a lady with the user name of Kikai posts on HUKD - she lists all the offers and which supermarket has the cheapest prices so you get maximum profit. Now you might still need to do your own research if the cheapest one is not nearby but it might save you a little time.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Hello,
Well not managed a NSD yet. I was doing fine on Friday and took my lunch to work with me but then my husband suggested that I go buy a packet of envelope our money into. It was only a £1 for the envelopes but this sparked off the attitude in me of 'well as I've already not achieved a NSD, I might as well buy a few snacks' and so probably spent around a £5 in total on Friday whe it could have just been a £1! I clearly need to address this attitude!
Yesterday was my birthday and we were having family over for a meal so we spent money on buying things for that. We were buying last minute so could have definitely spent less money if we had been more prepared. Another lesson to learn!
Today will be another spendy day as need a weekly shop. Without a car at the moment so going to do an online shop. Will meal plan when I do that and post my meal plan later. We are also going to do our budget today and put money into envelopes. When I spend money from the envelopes on intended purchases I won't count them as spend days, only if I buy things out with things budgeted for. Need to send my cousin a b'day card today but have spare cards and stamps in the house so that is fine.
My hubby and I agreed in no b'day presents for our b'days (his is in November) and we will try and aim for a break away in November/December instead so an extra incentive to be good with the spending/saving. Earlier in the month my MIL gave me £40 for my b'day and I promptly spent that on 2 pairs of jeans and a long top to wear with leggings as I needed these items. I shouldn't need to buy clothes for a good while now. I got a £30 boots voucher from my mum so plan to keep that for when I need to replace things rather than spending it frivolously. I need some new hairbands (put my hair up a lot) so that may be my first purchase on it. I also received a gift of a small handbag which I needed but didn't want to spend the money on so happy with that.NSD Dec: 0/15

Oooooh, great idea Bob. I'm in Worthing visiting my parents, but usually buy my own food anyway so I will do this after I've been to the shops.Hello,

Ok, meal plan.
I have just returned from the shops in Worthing with some food for the next few days.
Breakfasts
Eggs and toast
Porridge
Lunch
Tomato and three bean soup
Lentil and vegetable soup
Fish and rice
Dinner
Med Veg, wholegrain rice, salmon fillet x2
Spinach and Ricotta cannelloni
Tomato and Mascapone Pasta
I'm afraid none of these are recipes, they are all tins/ready meals/microwaveable sachets as am holiday and don't wish to cook too much.
Spent 18.51, and what's more my dad is charging me 3.50 per day i am here!!! he is on a reduced income now that all my brothers have moved out and aren't paying housekeeping any more, so it's not so much the price that is a bother, but the suddenly being made aware of this when I arrived home. :rotfl: Barely had my foot in the door first, ah well, that's my dad for you
I think I may have bought a bit more than a need, so will focus on eating the fresh things and the tins and microwaveable sachets I can always bring home with me to Cardiff.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Hi everyone!
Not managed a NSD yet I'm afraid. Spent on Friday as we needed bread so decided to do a full shop in the hope of avoiding spending over the weekend. However, ended up treating little ones to cake yesterday then needed veggies today that I forgot in the main shop!
Have unexpectedly had an extra tax credits payment into my account. Have had a renewal letter through which doesn't say anything about it, but as they have come at the same time I assume that are connected!? This on top of lots of selling means I have £450 in my savings account. Can't decided whether to pay it off cc now, or wait til I have saved the full amount and pay it off in 1 lump sum.
My meal plan for the week is:
Roast chicken dinner
Chicken ramen
Chicken curry
Cous cous stuffed peppers
Butternut squash risotto
Chicken kebabs, salad, wraps
Sausage and chips
Breakfast is a cereal bar and fruit. Lunch will be home made ready meals from the freezer - vegetable chilli, pasta dishes etc.0 -
NSD today, my 1st, yey!
I really need to sort my meal plan, I am going to have a look through the freezer later and sort this. I am off to do some studying now as I am awful for procrastinating! No Spend Days 2020 Jul 24 / 28 Jun 20/25 May 22/25 Apr 20/25 Mar 16/25 Feb 20/20 Jan 20/15

Hi All
Loving the meal plans, you guys eat really well!! Im planning to review & see what I can include
Today I have done loads of jobs. Things I've not had time for in a while, for example handwashing 2 wool cardies of DDs that have sat waiting for weeks. Taking clothing to the textile recycling point (£1 found in the pockets just before I posted them in) dusting the bedroom including the top of the cupboard and hoovering the skirting boards under the wardrobes.
Got some garden toys out and washed them with hot water and washing up liquid.
I am starting to feel really pleased with operation declutter. Our room is 90% clutter free. We need to find room somewhere else in the house for our scuba gear which is sitting on top of my husbands wardrobe, a sleeping bag & a blow up matress.
My sons room is 95% decluttered. The bathroom is as good as it can be.
The office needs work. But most of that is just moving a pile to the loft.
Downstairs the front room is 99% clear. And so is the kitchen. But the dining room needs work. Most of the issue is the comic collection boxes. Which have to live somewhere.
The shed needs a huge tidy
Thats our whole house.
I have walked for around 2 hours today in and around the area so lots of lovely fresh air and sunshine. Have spent good time with all the family & feel like we've made some memories.
I found 4p roadkill & a triple points coupon as well as the £1 in our old clothes. So a good day all round. About to make chicken quesadillas with the roast chicken from yesterday. Will pad them out with red kidney beansn& served with salad and the home made coleslaw.
Bye for now
