Does GiffGaff sim cards work with Sony Xperia Z3?

Generally a SIM card is a SIM card is a SIM card. Like as much they all come from the same supplier(s) with branding as appropriate.
Only way you'll confirm or otherwise if it is a GG SIM card issue is to try a different operators SIM card. (I'm assuming by "didn't recognise" that you mean it doesn't even see a SIM card fitted. If yes the simply trying another SIM should sort this out).0 -
Silly question, but you have tried the sim in something else so you know it works?0

Another silly quespion are the 2 phones unlocked ?
I take it you have checked the sim cards are in the right way ?0 -
Yes I've tried O2 and EE and both worked.
If o2 worked then giffgaff should have worked. I would ask for a replacement sim card from giffgaff. I believe you can do it using sim swap.

If the sim you've got is unused with no credit or number moved to it, getting a new sim would get you £5 call credit and give £10 to charity when activated.
