Right, I'm not sure what that rubbish metaphor was supposed to be about, but all that you seem to be able to do is put people down. I've seen you do it several times today, and get pulled up on it. Does it make you feel really good about yourself?

I've reported that poster and I hope the moderation team do something about him, I do not know what infighting was on the forum before but for him to just ambush my thread in this manner and proceed to insult everyone is disgusting.

I understand the Brexit has made people upset but it is disgusting to just troll the forum in this way. I hope the moderators say something as there are people who just come here for advice and aren't anticipating the above.

It doesn't matter whether you're trying to buy a home for £100k or £1million. If you read the many, many threads already on the House Buying, Renting & Selling board regarding BREXIT the only thing that is clear is that nobody really knows what will happen. It's all just speculation as no other country has left the EU before. Greenland left the EEC but that's not quite the same thing. In fact the UK hasn't even left yet and there's still a chance the UK might not leave, the big red button hasn't been pushed yet.

You will always get different responses as this is a first for everyone. Nobody knows. Not even Martin Lewis - which he admits in his Brexit guide.

The forums are just made up of members of the public who can offer their opinions.

We get a lot of spam on the boards and not many million pound plus questions. People draw their own conclusions.

    In answer to your questions:

    1. Should I continue my offers at pre-brexit prices if I go ahead?

It's too soon to know if property prices will suffer, rise or if we'll be in recession again

    2. Is there any advantage of being a cash buyer in this time?

Cash buying may get you a better deal - but prob not if they need what they think it's worth if they're moving elsewhere and need X amount

    3. If I wait it out how long do you recommend.

    No way of knowing.

I once bought near the peak of the market in around 2006. Prices were rising. Over the next five years, it rose a bit more, peaked, then dropped sharply. Five years on, I sold for pretty much what I paid for it (despite spending thousands on a new kitchen, combi-boiler, shower, roof, guttering, d!cor, etc). I bought somewhere else which rose a fair bit, then moved again and my current house value has nearly doubled in three years.

This post is in no way being rude or derogatory, I am merely trying to explain. If you are looking for a reliable, safe investment with a guaranteed increase, then property is NOT always the answer, especially in this very unpredictable market.

If you are planning to hang on to it for 10+ years, fine. If it's short term, forget it.

I think the confusion is whether you just want a home or an investment.

You can ask the same question 20 times to different people, forums or advisers and you won't get the same answer, or a right one, as nobody knows.
