My TomTom uploads to Runkeeper and Strava as soon as I connect it after the run. That gives you good info0 -

Your right to be dubious in my view... I did a half marathon yesterday finishing in sub 1hr 40min and I burnt not much more than 1300 cals. Used a Forerunner 630 with HR.
Had a quick skim for the Tom Tom Runner's features and it seems pretty basic. I suspect if you can add one then a HR strap will give you a MORE accurate (though not accurate) cals burnt figure.0 -

A Garmin Fenix 3 will do all that but I don't believe that you can cycle through that data until the activity has finished. Then the Fenix will show a summary.0 -
What I like about the Tom Tom is that it picks up the satellite signal within seconds and when I attach the watch to my computer, up pops the program and uploads the data immediately.
Pre-loading satellite fixes is pretty standard even on the most basic watches these days.
You have to boot up your computer and physically connect your watch to download the data? Sounds like a right royal pain in the bum. Get a FR630 and it'll auto-log-on to your WiFi and upload without you having to do anything more than walk through the front door0 -

The computer is always switched on when I am home. I attach the watch to the usb cable and the data automatically downloads. (I am trying to keep up a certain level of activity so I don't end up in a care home.)
Could not possibly justify any further expenditure on gadgets, at the moment. A nice long holiday; soon: is next on the agenda.0 -

I always plug mine (Tomtom Spark) straight into the computer after a run and it stays there until next time, that way I always know it's fully charged and ready to go.0 -

That's OK if you have Wifi at home, not everyone does.
Like others, I plug mine into the USB cable to charge the watch and it uploads automatically at the same time.0 -

These are mostly data fields which you can just add to that app. So yes you can view them as you are running/walking etc.Mr_Singleton wrote: »Pre-loading satellite fixes is pretty standard even on the most basic watches these days.

I agree with this, I have mine set to bluetooth to my phone when I am near or wifi.RichardD1970 wrote: »I always plug mine (Tomtom Spark) straight into the computer after a run and it stays there until next time, that way I always know it's fully charged and ready to go.
I charge mine about every week as I run on average 6 times a week. Normally its down to about 50% by then so I could probably charge it every other week. I normally just plug it in to the socket to charge rather than the computer though.
I wear mine as normal watch so I always have it with me.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0
