GPS tracking watch

Be sure to check the reviews to make sure it is accurate. My daily cycle commute according to Google is 3.2 miles. However when I track it using my Misfit Flash ... low and behold it is 2.1 miles.
I only bought mine cheap as a tester if it would do everything I need it to do, but it is one area I would definitely recommend you to keep in mind as a priority!
Good luck with finding something and be sure to keep us updated0 -
The TomTom recorded miles seems to fit with what the map says and also comparing it to what other walkers are saying their devices are reading.0

Most of them are pretty accurate nowadays. It depends on a couple of factors, such as: do you go through trees or tall buildings (these can hinder the signal and misread distance) or if you have lots of corners and the GPS isn't registering the intervals quick enough so straightens out your route.
My garmin normally matches up well with my maps on most of my runs except one of my local parkruns where it registers anything from 2.5 to 3.1 miles depending on its signal through the forest. You can see on the track where it has straightened or cut corners on the route.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
What I like about the Tom Tom is that it picks up the satellite signal within seconds and when I attach the watch to my computer, up pops the program and uploads the data immediately.0

This is a thread about sports tracking not surveillance.

I went to download the Tomtom Runner app for my Tablet last night only to discover that the app doesn't work on it, that's the trouble with getting a cheap brand I suppose
I was hoping to download the watch while I was away on holiday.
I will do a test this week to see how many walks the watch will store without doing a download.0 -

It should be fine to store loads of walks without a sync.
Not sure if my logic holds but if you look back through your watch you should be able to list all the details of your walks so in theory they should all be fine.
I'm guessing that you can't pull off the file directly from the watch and then upload it manually from the tablet. (Not sure if you can do that from the tom tom watches to be honest)
My old garmin I used to be able to plug it into the tablet and copy off the gpx file then upload it to garmin connect from the tablet manually.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
A quick question for those of you who've got these watches - can you pull up details such as max speed, total height climbed/descended etc on them without having to download the data to another device?
I'm looking for a watch to track me when skiing rather than having to pull my phone out of my pocket at the bottom of each piste.0 -

You certainly can on my watch I have settings for skiing / boarding and XC ski. Just looking at the fields that I can have yes all of those you listed are there.
Certainly for running i have it set to change to a screen when I am climbing to show altitude, vertical speed, hill grade etc.
Although my watch is a multisport watch and not just a running watch as it covers swimming, cycling, skiing, rowing etc too.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -

Can't do that on the TomTom that I have but you do get all the data when you upload to the 'Mysports' website.0
