Finally upgraded to Club. On the phone. Had sit through all the t&cs being read oit, answer all the questions you get on screen, confirm my partner knew all about this, didn't need to speak with her tho'!
All in all this took about ten minutes.
So the saga is over, thanks to all for your comments, weird how the process varies. fj0 -

But I didn't experience this before, maybe it's new? It's LBG's way. Ask them!
Could be, it would be highly effective.jonesMUFCforever wrote: »To stop you claiming a miss-sale in the future.;)0 -

Perhaps they think that nobody reads the terms and conditions, so the key points are read out to you on screen, while the CSA goes away to make a cup of tea and print loads of documents for you to take home and shred.Really? Why would you need to watch videos when opening a bank account?
As for mis-selling, I don't see any difference between signing to agree that I'd read the T&Cs, and signing to agree that I'd had them read to me.
If they needed to prove that I'd understood the terms, they'd have had to make me complete a proof of learning test and kept a record of the result.0 -
Playing a video prevents claims that the customer was told something incorrect about the terms in branch.Perhaps they think that nobody reads the terms and conditions, so the key points are read out to you on screen, while the CSA goes away to make a cup of tea and print loads of documents for you to take home and shred.

My other half says she is not allowed to leave the room when the videos are running.0 -
Watching it once is bad enough. Watching it repeatedly sounds like some sort of brain-numbing punishment.jonesMUFCforever wrote: »My other half says she is not allowed to leave the room when the videos are running.0
