Parceline- sorry we missed you

He didn`t miss me he didn`t knock, oh I hate waiting in for things to come.
But it was £30 cheaper to buy online.

I have emailled them and told them that I`m not happy.

DO they get paid for each delivery attempt?

This means I will have to take kids to school/playgroup in the car tomorrow, to save time, an hour round trip if I walk.

Maybe they knocked with a feather :( I have had this problem before with carriers, as I am in a lot I order a lot of items via post.

What annoys me the most is when they say they cant deliver because they didnt have enough time, catalogue companies are the worst for this.

No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you

I've had that! Daft blighter didn't even leave a CARD! I only found out about it because I emailed the sender, they did a trace and *they* told me I wasn't in LOL

Now, I may have been more forgiving if:-

    a) they'd left a card
    b) dh and I hadn't been in all that day!

When we went to collect, they were adamant that the delivery was attempted and a card had been left

Actually, there's been a few items of mail which have magically disappeared in the past few months

my daughters nappies were left on my neighbours doorstep i was in she wasnt how weird is that, do no2 and no6 sound the same, no card was left anywhere you are supposed to sign for them as well.
  • Apologies to bring this back up again but I thought it would save space, rather than creating a new thread...

    Taken from another Parceline thread...
no sign of it arriving and at about 4pm the tracking status on the website changed to "Attempted to deliver". No card or anything

My mum has ordered from Euroffice, and when I press 'track' on their website, the Parceline tracking service informs me that Parceline have tried and failed to deliver the parcel twice and have left cards.

I have been out Monday and Tuesday at the time they have claimed to deliver (therefore I don't even know if they HAVE tried to deliver) but what annoys me is that I haven't received a card at all. And now, I'm going to work this afternoon, and will be out if they attempt to deliver again.

Part of me thinks I should leave a note for Parceline on the front door to give it to our next door neighbours, but I'm paranoid that people would then know there is no one at home if they were to read it.

    Arghhhhh!

ETA - typically, they turned up 5 mins after I posted the above :D

I work as a delivery driver for a high street electrical retailer. When I get to a delivery and there is no-one in, we have a protocol to follow:-

Ring the office and let them try the contact number.

If no-one answers then we have to give a description of the house, this includes the little things such as grass that needs cutting, kiddies toys in the garden and the like.

I tried to deliver something the other day and got no answer when I tried the contact number, office couldn't get through either. Customer eventually rings and says I'll have to go back. The only problem is that I was on my way home having already unloaded my van at base, which was 65 miles from the customers house.

Some people seem to think that we deliveries to the hour but we don't.

On the other hand, some companies seem to think that the customer should be grateful that we have delivered to them. As far as I'm concerned, it's my job to deliver, not just a rough guideline:rolleyes:

At least they didn't leave your parcel on the doorstep like one parcel courier did for me. Thankfully, it was still there when I got home. I was going to call hem a couple of weeks later to ask where my parcel was (knowing full well they had no proof I had actually got it). Wish I wasn't so morally minded!
Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!

DO they get paid for each delivery attempt?

No, they are all employees and so get a normal hourly rate for work but undoubtably they are targetted on attempting delivery on all the parcels in their vehicle.

Certainly raise the matter with them as they do log complaints against drivers and so ultimately if one particular driver is receiving a higher than normal level of complaints then it will be looked into.

The last time it happened to me however I went for a walk after finding the card and complaining to them (after all there was no point in staying in any longer) and bumped into a van a few streets away. Asked if it happened to be him that had "attempted delivery" on my street and he said it was him and apologised but said he couldnt work out the buzzer system. Then without asking to see the card, proof of ID/ address he just handed me my parcel and drove off.

They are the scum of the earth, I called them like 3 times wasting around 8£ since they let you stay on hold for 20 mins and it cost 0.20p a min.

I never got a card, never got a call. I really wonder who is making the decisions at this company, this package must look like !!!! now from all the going back and forth. I live in Wandsworth BTW. On the 16th I was promised a delivery and that the driver would absolutely call, instead, they send it back oO
  • I was unlucky to have my first experience of Parceline the other day. I had relieved our receptionist as is usual when her time to return home arrived. At around 18:30 hours the doorbell rang and I automatically opened the door (which is situated about 5 meters from the reception desk), the person stood and waited, and one of the staff was leaving opened the door. The delivery agent huffed and puffed saying to me 'You should have helped me carry in the boxes'. As I was busy I was quite put out by the person telling me what I should be doing, so I told him 'You want help, get your wallet out and we can discuss it'. He looked slightly put out and then told me 'what nice people do' which I am quite aware of as I still keep to my scouting principles. They do not however cover large arrogant idiots who presume its my vocation to do their job, so I ventured 'Your a fully grown man, not a child, you don't need help, I lug boxes all around work all day, geta grip.' adding 'If you can't do your job I suggest you carry one box at a time'. He didn't look happy and eventually I politely (yeh right) asked him to leave the building.

So as you can imagine I was overjoyed to see him two days later. A colleague enquired whether her mobile phone had been delivered, to which I answered in the negative. She said that it had meant to be delivered prior to 18:00hrs, but as it was now 19:00hrs she was leaving. Around 10 minutes later the same delivery guy turned up. As the reception was now closed and I was only there by chance (the brevity of my duties as a facilities assistant called elsewhere in the building), I pondered whether I should just ignore him, but as the item was for a colleague and she had waited, I decided contra that course. I opened the side door and was told that his electronic device was not working...the item that is described on their webpage as...

Saturn is the route control and signature capture system that puts Parceline light years ahead of its competitors

instead of this cutting edge technology I was provided with a new A4 signature sheet, and asked to sign, which I of course did, and just as I entered 19:10hrs on the sheet I heard the delivery agent say 'no don't put the time'; I smiled wryly (I can be a bit like that). The agent left, and I duly noted the tracking number for later reference; I mean this guy wasn't stupid enough to change the form, right? I logged into the tracking system to see that it had been put on the truck at 08:59hrs that morning a short distance away, 'hmmm...' thinks me, '...peculiar'. Imagine my surprise when later that evening I returned home to discover the tracking stated that it had been delived at 11:00hrs that morning.

I pondered emailing Prof. Hawking about the possibility of time travel and/or tachyons, but instead fired off an email asking how this could have occurred, given the delivery had actually been 8 hours later and that I had signed to that effect. I can only presume that the document I had been signatory to had been altered, if not completely destroyed and reconstituted in another's hand. Last time I checked such an action fell outside of the law, so as per the post title...

'Not only unreliable, but potentially criminal.'

...still awaiting replies to my emails...
