    unfortunately given the monopoly position of BT these occurrence's are not rare, get them to spend a couple of hundred on equipment for a cellular/wireless solution it will probably work out a pound an hour for the time they have spent nagging BT so far :D

    +1 to hanging out on the BT community forum and nagging ;) lol (but be nice!)

    you'll get the attention of the CS staff who can put you directly in touch with the level 2 Opernreach technicians (Don't know what the engineers are technically called but they deal only with broadband issues and have more authority to deal with BT broadband) They can force a speed profile on your line so you don't have to wait for training or see if the entire line from the roadside cabinet needs replacing. ;)

    yes, if your ISP has a forum/community, it's almost always better to get faults fixed via them than over the phone...
