Flight only to Canaries £1200 more than last year??

Is there any reason there would be this much of a difference?

More or less same dates. Xmas, 2 weeks. Leaving when the kids have broken up. Same airport same airline. Bhx with Monarch.

One difference. We booked last year 2 weeks before! (We had Eygyp cancelled on us) and obviously now I'm looking 6 months in advance..

So is it purely because I looked 2 weeks before v 6 months before. It seems a lot..... family of 4 btw.

    No Egypt, no Tunisia, Morroco scares lots of people so they'll all go to the Canaries for Christmas.

    As above, more people want to go than there are seats available

    So do think this is as cheap as they will be?

    P.s got to use Monarch as thats who our compensation is with.
