Hull Phone and Broadband options
Options

Hi, I am due to move to Hull in July and have noticed my bills are going to go up considerably because of KComs monopoly on services in the area. I am wondering what other options might be available? I'm sure there must be other options so would like any advice from current residents who have to deal with the same problem. Thanks.

Kcom have a monopoly on the local loop in Hull sfaik. I imagine the only way to avoid using them is by using satellite or 4G broadband both of which are going to have bandwidth usage issues and probably work out even more expensive.
I do recall hearing Kcom were rolling out close to universal FTTP but that their copper infrastructure in general offered poor internet services.
Will be interested to see what any Hull residents have to say.0 -
I would imagine if they make their services better the prices will go up even more with no competition present. I've heard it's a case of the other providers just not wanting to bring their services to Hull instead of not being able to. They're concerned it's not worth it as people might stay loyal to KCom. I doubt that if the service is as good, or better, with a reduced price.0
