We had a horrific move and when eventually we did get the keys we had a ceremonial bottle of wine ( or two ) and fire pit party with the sign. Not sure if it was the PC thing to do but god it felt good.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

Cost of sign & post... £5?
Cost of person, van, fuel, collection & storage... ?
No brainer
Slightly more than a £5.00 cost the wooden post alone would be more than this.
They have people that put the signs up so no additional costs involved for them here to collect ones, As for storage they will likely place in the back room unless a large outfit who may use a outbuilding.0 -

I took mine down as soon as I moved in, took the sign off the post and stored them both in my outbuilding as I had no room elsewhere.
A few weeks later a chap knocked on the door asking for the sign, so I dug it out and said "Hang on I just need to unbury the post from the stuff it's under."
"No problem", he said, "you can keep that if you can make use of it."
Fine - I'm sure I can use a 8 foot length of 2"x2" somewhere, even if it is painted a rather lurid green

Lettings agents boards must be the worse for being taken down promptly one in our street must have been up for a year.
Just had to call a local letting agent to get them to remove the let sign for the ground floor property that has been there a month with the for let 2 months prior to that, fed up with looking at it from our lounge.
No need for any of them now anyway, they are an eyesore IMO.

The agent see's the post as free advertising .
Our son just took it down and laid it on the floor.
They picked it up eventually.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
In the past I've had agents who pick up their signs quickly and others who don't seem interested. After a while I've kept the post to use as a stake in the garden and broken up the plastic flag to go in the bin.
They've taken a large fee from the seller of the house so I have no scruples worrying about looking after a board that they can't be bothered with.0 -
I got so fed up of waiting for collection, that I left the sign outside the agent's shop!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0
