Seychelles Rupees - how to get?!

Hi

I'm travelling to seychelles next month and have been advised that they now widely only accept Seychelles Rupees (for many years Euros were preferred). However you are only allowed to take in 2000 rupees each (about £100).

I've never used travellers cheques/prepaid cards so was wondering what would be best?
I don't think there are any banks on 2 of the islands we stay on so maybe a card would be better? But the prepaid cards don't seem to be available in Seychelles Rupees...is the only option to buy a prepaid £ card that you have say £1,000 on and then use that?

I ask because they seem to have charges for using at cash points anyway so I could just use my normal debit/credit card.
