Parking issues on an unadopted road

I live in a cul de sac of 4 properties with one road in and out. We own the piece of road directly infront of us, which is the exact width of our house plus path/garage. Our deeds state we need to leave access to the other properties.
Our neighbour has put a large wooden shed style 'wendy house' on their drive which means they park on the road. They have visitors daily who park on our property making it difficult to get on and off our driveway, although not blocking it completely.
Our front garden has been fully paved to keep our cars off the road but with their parking it means delivery lorries turn on our driveway.
We have tried over and over to explain our frustrations but they don't care. They now leave their spaces free and park on ours to be awkward.
The police are not interested as they say it's private land and they'll only get involved if a public order offence is committed!!!
I have been told to speak to a solicitor but I can't see that making a difference to a family of ignoramus'!!!!

  • Park on your section of road outside your house to stop other's doing it.

That's just being awkward which is not the solution I'm looking for thanks.

If you're not willing to fight fire with fire, you'll have to live with it then.

I live on an unadopted road too. Thankfully, everyone is respectful of each others spaces, but if they weren't I would definitely make the point by parking in "their" spaces.

Give and take goes both ways though and visitors have to park somewhere, to achieve a resolution you have to talk or act or both.

We've tried talking, it's been 2 years! Previously they were thoughtless now they're being deliberately awkward. He's a bully too. He gets his friends to leave their car there all day until 2-3am!

Forgot to mention there's a free car park across the road!

Perhaps you have some issue with the drains on your drive which means you can't use it for a time, and so have to park on the road.......

If you don't actively want to confront them a little subterfuge goes a long way.

So I take it none of these people have lives or jobs to get to?

She's a childminder so had parents in and out, which is ok unless they stop to talk for an hour.
The husband works but she has 3 adult children too. Fortunately she seems to be out of favour with 2 of them at the moment but the 3rd is always visiting.

Bollards to prevent lorries turning, temporary ownership of an old banger that won't mind a few extra dents if you happen to find getting on and off the drive difficult because of badly parked vehicles until they get fed up of being dented themselves.
