Blimey! Well it's now public domain, because if he's been banged up he's been in court - so what happened?0

I don't know exactly, the EA told us he'd gone to prison - but I think it was money laundering.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

I'm impressed you updated the thread!
out of interest, did he continue being a model tenant, paying rent etc? or did it all deteriorate?0 -

A model tenant right up to the end.
He told us on the one occasion we met him that he came from an awful and notorious criminal family (true - we looked them up!) and that he wanted to try and make a new life away from them.
We helped to give him a chance. He blew it. Silly young man(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Thanks for your advice.
He isn't a criminal until convicted by a court of law.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

Still, glad you gave him a chance. Very decent.
We once had police round when we were out a few times because they kept on confusing flat 1 with flat 1a. Really frustrating.
Even considered putting a sign on the front door saying 'police - flat 1a is behind us'. Wasn't even a dodgy area.0 -
A bit of a shock for you but if he's been a model tenant for 2 years it hasn't been a disaster for you and hopefully you will get a new tenant quickly. I have a BTL and my tenant left recently, he had been there for 7 years so I can't grumble but the house needed an overhaul. I've got it all sorted and the agent has booked two viewings for next week so I'm hoping it will be let soon so I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us.0

He has the tenancy until July 4th. Remains to be seen if we get the last month's rent! But I have already instructed the EA to find another tenant at the appropriate time.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
