I need a computer solution please?

Hello All

I have a expensive gaming laptop, but now Ive moved and my internet is so slow that after formatting my laptop I have nothing to play. It takes too long to download so I decided to quit for a while.

So what I do now is only really watch movies, search the web and go on youtube.

I need a small PC box, something minimalist. Something that can handle my usage because I have a lot of tabs open and I stream at the same time.

It needs to have USB 3 and HDMI. It will need sound. Onboard is fine to be honest.

I also have an existing SSD with Win7 I could use?

Thanks

You could get one without SSD an use your existing, and your Win7

Yes, as mentioned, my tinterwebs is rubbish now, hence I cant be bothered downloading anything anymore so packing in the gaming for a while.

    That Amazon link....Soooo expensive!

Can I build one myself? My budget is as low as possible. Maybe £150 ish. Am I dreaming?

The only parts I have are some Corsair Vengeance Desktop DDR3 Ram lying about I could use.

Build a new one no matter the price and your internet will still be slow.

Why don't you just use your existing laptop? If it's a gaming laptop it should have a pretty good spec and will be able to handle any kind of normal usage.

The full one with max RAM and huge SSD plus HDD is costly, but you can get the unloaded one for a couple of hundred quid - you already have an SSD so could just add RAM. It's a fanless system so low power and runs cool despite a decent processor, your preferences will vary.

Of course you can build your own, the choice is enormous so if you're specifc what you're after people might be able to help

Your gaming rig will just work as an ordinary PC surely?

Wow. There is serious lack of understanding here! Allow me to clarify :

    1. Internet download speed is 2mb
    2. I don't want to do pc gaming anymore
    3. I want to downgrade my £1000 laptop
    4. I just want something where I can browse the web, watch youtube, input my USB 3 devices, attach the PC/Box to my HDMI monitor
    5. I want to run my SSD off it, whether installed internally or externally.

So what are you going to do with your gaming laptop?. If your going to sell it then you need to consider how much you will get because it may not be worth selling it and buying something not as good if you won't end up with much money left over!.

No lack of understanding, more a lack of explanation previously.
