Jet2 flight delay

Options
On a recent trip to Turkey my outbound flight was delayed by 1 hour causing me to miss my transfer, my inbound flight was delayed by 3 hours, according to the letter received from Jet 2 today it was only 2 hours 53 min. Also as the decided to change the plane at the last minute in outbound, l lost my pre booked and paid for seat, they told people to sit where they wanted. According to which, we should have been offered refreshment vouchers and the opportunity to contact home to inform them of delay. None of this was offered, all we got was half price chocolate bar in flight.

So can someone please tell me where do l go from here

    Hi ,

Nothing for your out bound flight and same for the inbound unless it went over the 3 hours by the time the first door was opened.

They usually quote landing time, not doors open time, so it was close in your case.

    Good luck.

the NWNF companies appear to agree that the delay was under 3 hours so no compensation applies
You could try to claim reimbursement of the seat reservation fees for the outbound flight
  • Obviously no compensation due for the outbound flight. Inbound they were correct. Delay time was 170 mins so no EU261 compensation for that either.

As regards phone calls and refreshment vouchers. As the flight was 15 mins over the 3 hours on departure they probably didn't "reasonably expect" it would be delayed beyond 3 hours. They're not going to be handing out refreshment vouchers and offering phone calls when they're trying to get people boarded.

Depending on Jet2 T&Cs surrounding pre requested seats you could ask for a refund of the money paid for those.
  • Not sure of T&Cs these days, but I got seat booking fees reimbursed for a delay/diversion while on Jet2 when we were allocated different seats.
