Good evening folks.
We've just returned from the USA and ended up arriving about 11 hours later than scheduled. My take on the situation is that we're not eligible for compensation but I wondered what other peoples opinions might be.
We were flying from Nashville to Heathrow, via Chicago. Due to the late running of our Nashville to Chicago flight we ended up missing our LHR flight (they closed it seconds before we disembarked the first flight).
We weren't able to then get a direct flight with AA or one of their partners as they were fully booked. However, we were booked on a flight with Finnair via Helsinki which we took.
This flight did arrive more or less to schedule. I am intending to moan at AA but I wondered if the fact we ended up flying on EU metal entitled us to EU compensation?
