I am pretty happy as I'm currently paying £18 for m100 only so I took the option whilst on hold that popped up to waive the £3.25 increase for 6mths.
I will be back in July when my contract expires!!0 -
Which number are you calling them on to get this ? - A family member has tried a few different options and gave up after 20 minutes in the queue - no automated message.leew said:All sorted

I was told by the human I eventually got after ignoring the message, that you only get the automated offer once. I’d had it three times while trying to get through, but didn’t get it again once I’d given notice!BigBlueSky said:

Thank you - we haven't had it at all. I was just wondering which of the telephone numbers you used to call them on when you got it ?victor2 said:

I started on 150 from my VM landline, which is where I heard the offer.BigBlueSky said:

Then after I gave notice my landline strangely went dead, so I had to call another number from a mobile. Didn’t get the offer then, and line mysteriously fixed itself after I’d accepted the offer from retentions!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Yeah I thought so, rang up today as contract up in month or so, offered me something that was £15pm more than paying now, but still £50pm less than if my contract had rolled over 😀andylad72 said:
Believe so, it's the 'thinking of leaving, please initiate my 30-day cancellation' number. Once cancellation in, the other retentions team contact you to tempt you to stay. Don't think you can contact that team direct. I rang initially on 0800 052 2001.PZ19 said:This 0800 number quoted I assume is Inbound retentions, not outbound retentions that only call in some cases after cancellation?0 -
Why did you accept £36 for M50? They're ripping you off. Just give them cancellation if you're still within your 14 days and they'll call you back within two days and offer you a better deal from the proper retentions team. I got offered £20 for M100. Its stated time and time again on here. I don't get why people don't issue the cancellation, you can always cancel it and carry on if they don't call you, its 30 days notice. You won't get the best deals calling them, you have to cancel and they will call you.Aylesbury_Duck said:Spoke to them yesterday because my current discount deal £11 p.m. off) happens to end in March, the same time as a £3.25 p.m. price rise. I'd be going from £34 p.m. to £48.25 p.m. for M50 and weekend calls. Told them I couldn't justify that when I can get BT broadband only at similar speed for £29 and Sky for £25. I can't drop speed any more because there are often 3 or 4 of us working from home, but I don't need the landline. After some initial discussion I got put through to retentions. Had to wait 25 mins on hold but the chap there was very helpful. They got it down to £36 p.m. for 18 months of the same services with a promise not to implement the March rise or any other rise before July 2023. Still more than I could be paying for BT or Sky for broadband only but I'm not sure my old BT line is active (I've never used it since owning this house) and don't want to risk the hassle of a problematic switch for the sake of a few pounds a month.
I told my son to call to haggle. He has M100 broadband only, which was going up from to £46 p.m. He got upgraded to M200 and a new monthly cost of £28. Should have got him to call for me...
I've got my contract through this morning, but there's nothing about the promise not to implement any price rises. I could call them but then again, if they introduce a rise in March next year, it gives me an early exit opportunity if there are better deals around.1 -
Yes, the 0800 952 2277 number to get through to retentions is inbound only. When the onshore retentions called today (a very nice enthuasiastic Welsh lady) it came from 020 3743 6946 (whixh I assume is a Virgin outbound only number).PZ19 said:This 0800 number quoted I assume is Inbound retentions, not outbound retentions that only call in some cases after cancellation?
We have the max tv package with Sky Sports/Movies and got a 45% discount (£20 a month cheaper than standard retentions had offered). Pretty happy about that, though not so happy at forgetting and allowing the contract to roll over for a few months this time.0 -

I was offered this after about a 5-10 min wait - I was also offered this the other day when I rang but I didn't press 1 to accept due to someone saying it could possibly override any existing offers on your account (I checked on livechat and it doesn't apparently)
Good luck.0 -
Agree with JamesN, you shouldn't be paying over £20 for M100, cancel if you still can and wait for a better offer , it WILL come!JamesN said:
