I used a section of the M1 recently to go to Meadowhall as I often do but the first time since it changed to a smart motorway, afterwards I was paranoid I'd missed a variable speed limit change or a lane being closed(many of both) and I'd be receiving a fine in the post. All the signs were for an "Incident" which I never actually came across.


From now on I'm just going to shop in Derby to stay off the M1.
It feels like they are trying to make it as difficult as possible not to be fined for something.
