Lost Luggage compensation

Hi, recently I travelled with Brussels Airlines to Lisbon, with a transfer at Brussels en route. When I got the Lisbon I found that my luggage had been left behind in Brussels. this was on the Thursday, I eventually got my luggage back on the Saturday but in the mean time I had to buy items to keep me going as I had nothing in my hand luggage sadly. My question for the forum is thi, I am trying to make a claim with the airline I have sent receipts etc but now they have emailed me asking for my bank details, Iban and Bic codes.
Has anyone else experienced this method? is it legit? do I give them the info?

    Yes it is perfectly legitimate, they seem to want to transfer the money direct to your account. It would be nice if they would tell you in advance how much they are sending, hopefully the amount you are claiming!
