You're right it did, but if's not compatible with Windows 10 I needed to anyway.
Will try your link thanks.Might be worth checking that you have the latest drivers installed from the Lenovo website.
Will do.
It's not crashed again since going back to Win 8.1, but I'm not holding my breath
Thanks again all, I appreciate the help:)0 -

Re the above: trying to do the mem test via bootable CD, but the laptop does want to boot from CD and the option to boot from CD does not appear in the bios set up.
The only option is to boot from hard drive or network.
Can anyone help please.
ETA: When I first got the laptop it wanted an email address and password login. Perhaps stupidly:o , I used my main email address. Is there any way of changing this so if I take it to a repair shop, they do not need my email password and can login as administrator, without access to my emails?
Thanks0 -
a ram test isn't necessary, if you take it to a repair shop, you'll probably get taken for a ride, they don't write the software.
Regarding your question, it may be due to your secureboot/uefi settings or a non-bootable discDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
