Hypothetical accident, where would fault lie.

    If someone causes an accident, but does not actually end up involved in it and they drive off, the only way they'd be in "trouble" is if there were enough witnesses OR a recording from CCTV or a dashcam.

    There are too many incompetent drivers out there who tootle about claiming they've "never had an accident in 40 years of driving", although i'm sure they're seen hundreds in their rear view mirror.

    Get a dashcam, I don't drive anywhere without one.

    That's all well and good (and often brought up in dicussions like this) but the reality is there are far more people who've never had an accident in xx years simply by being safe, considerate, and patient drivers.

    Incidentally, what's a rear view mirror?
