When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning guys. Thanks for thread Specky! Yay to Friday!
Pleased to report the lovely weather yesterday resulted in me digging out a pair of shorts to sit in the garden with madam :T which resulted in me finding my earings :j so pleased I was able to put it down, even though I was very disappointed. Glad I didn't waste energy being upset and letting it ruin my day
Small things for today:
Going to a party tonight at a friend's house - will pick up drinks on the way
As we'll be going out around 6 will just do things around the house with lo (crafts, hide and seek, playing with toys) rather than going out and spending money. I've been inspired by an article on a lady who decided not to buy anything for a year. I often take on challenges and can't stick to them long term. But am going to try this and just take it a day/week/month at a time!
Make dinner for when oh gets home & bath dgd this afternoonget her ready for the party and entertain her at the same time!
Chicken and (hm) pumpkin puree out of the freezer for dinner. Will pick first courgettes to go with it and will have lettuce, rocket and basil salad from the garden as well
still working on clearing the freezer! Am determined to defrost it in the next couple of weeks in anticipation of all the hm produce I hope to freeze!
Looked through the freezer and made a meal plan/small shopping list. Think I can get everything we need for the week for sub £20. If I can stick to this it'll mean our shopping bill for 3 weeks will be £100
Baking to use up browning bananas - will dig out a different recipe as we have had so many banana, cinnamon and raisin muffins over the last couple of months!
submit meter readings
pottering in the garden, tidying up and sowing some seeds later
Think that's everything. Happy Friday y'all xDF as at 30/12/16

Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Hi June Jubilatants,
Thanks for the starter Speky.
Stumbled out of bed this morning and into the back garden to get it tidied up.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Harvested loads of spinach and froze most of it for later use.
* Sold some stamps on eBay.
* Heard that when I go back to work on Monday it'll be as Senior Management again for a while, with 250 staff to look after. This means a pay rise is due.And a huge amount of pressure is just about to descend on my wee elf-height shoulders.
* Received free sample of Argan Oil and Eau de Argan. (Link)
How about you folks?

I have a £5 off code for a company called SimplyArgan that sells Argan Oil (whatever the smurf that is!) If anyone wants it send me a private message and I'll tell you the code. Evening all, been MIA due to this horrible fluey cold bug which has wiped me out a bit
Not much done over the last few days, but on the plus side, I haven't been anywhere to spend either!
Today I have:
Taken 5 ebay parcels to the post office :T
Fed strawberries and tomatoes
Sowed more peas in an empty pot
Sold another item which I will need to pack for posting tomorrow
Tidied up sales unit while I was out - I am reducing the size of this, as it is losing me money. Hoping to downsize at the beginning of next month, but this is partially dependent on others
HM meals, using HG radishes, salad leaves, potatoes and mangetout - and strawberries for pudding
Done a few surveys for onepoll, boring, but I like to see the pennies adding upSome of the surveys are so naff though, that I wonder who pays for them
Still to do:
Find and pack the item that has sold on ebay
Bit of paperwork for business
Quick tidy round
Also, catch up on the thread over the last few days so I can see if I have missed anything!0 -
Poor Dawn hope you feel better soon
Hopefully you'll get extra money for the extra work Ally
I've just revised our wedding budget down as the new venue is about £700 cheaper than the old one was going to be. So much for mates rates! We're still waiting to get our £500 deposit back. Really worried he's going to diddle us. We have insurance so will look into claiming on that. He was supposed to be my OH's friend...
