Had a great time in London! I love it down there - amazing place, to visit not live!
Spent far too much, mostly on theatre tickets and meals! We saw School of Rock, Les Mis and All's Well that Ends Well at the Sam Wannamaker Playhouse! All totally different in their own way and all outstanding performances! Dipped into my savings but figured that's what it's for,
Got home yesterday and need to do some ironing. I also need new tyres but not sure if I have enough in my car pot, if I only need 2 I'll be fine if not i'll have to juggle some money around.
In other news, I went and donated blood last night! So proud of myself. I did donate years ago when I was about 20 and promptyly fainted so never went back. Proud to have done my bit and have made another appointment for June!0 -
A productive weekend!
London is a fab place, but it's also unfortunately expensive. I do love a good musical and they sound brilliant. I'm glad you had a good time and got your moneys worth.
Also good on you for giving blood!! Did you take advantage of a little biscuit afterwards?0 -
Love love love Les Mis. Sounds like a fun weekend.

Pay day tomorrow so I'm waiting for that before I update my signature.
I need to move a bit of money around as I've borrowed bits from various pots.
I didn't get new tyres for my car, when we went it was crazy busy and we didn't have time to wait.0 -
While I know the pain of buying new tyres only too well, with the weather we are experiencing, you can't put a price on road safety.0

What a week. I started off with an awful cold/virus thing.
Monday and Tuesday at work was ok, Wednesday it took me 40 minutes to drive the 2.5 miles to work as some traffic lights were stuck on red both ways. When I got there I was told that bar the 1 ladies/staff toilet and 1 boys toilet, the rest were blocked!!!
We then had drainage men in school and on the playground. Then it started snowing really badly so parents came to collect children. Lessons were abandoned. As a result Thursday and Friday have been snow days. A godsend as I still haven't felt well.
This has meant low spend days. Payday was Wednesday so everything was allocated in YNAB and signatures updated.
Tomorrow I'm off to Manchester with 8 friends to celebrate a 30th birthday. Staying over, meal drinks and karaoke apparently. Just hope I can stay awake, I've been in bed at 9.30 all week.
It's cost so much just for one night and we still have to pay for meals and drinks. Trying to be positive and enjoy the experience and not think about the money!0 -
What a week Louby! Im sure you will enjoy yourself once you get out tomorrow xxMummytogirls x0

Well, what a night.
We'd booked a train to Manchester which was then cancelled- I've had to attempt to claim the money back and reimburse everyone. So we had to drive in 2 cars.
We were staying in an apartment (there were 9 of us) and it was lovely but cost us £83 each, so quite pricey. Luckily we'd paid bits towards it since October so it didn't feel too bad.
We had a great time, lunch and cocktails - the bill came to £329! Went back, played some daft games, got ready and back out for a meal. We'd already paid a £10 deposit and my meal was only £11.50. 7 of the 9 had 2 courses, me and my friend just had a main. Then my cheeky friend attempted to split the bill and wanted a FURTHER £15 off us. Now I'm not mean and I don't mind paying a bit for a tip but why should I pay £25 for an £11 meal. We'd had complimentary Prosecco and the birthday girl bought another bottle, so drinks were covered.
I'm now worrying that they will think I'm mean - but me and my friend were in effect subbing their starters. Plus we'd had pasta - some of them had salmon and steak as their mains.
I reckon the whole thing cost me £200 for 24 hours. I don't begrudge it as it was lovely.
Now back to budgeting and also eating sensibly as I've totally gone off the rails with my diet.0 -
TopCashback of £50 cleared plusvarious surveys and I've paid £62 towards my credit card.
Just waiting for 200 points before I can get my 3rd £50 from YouGov - that's been really quick to build up this time too.
Back to work after 2 snow days last week but we've had a text saying that the boilers are working intermittently at school so it's freezing!!!! Oh dear!!0 -
It's so tricky when there's a group of you. Splitting the bill will always make you feel a bit ripped off if you had something small and no starter/desert.
But then it is nice to get together and be invited to these things - if a bit pricey.
Hope you enjoyed it. xx2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
