Louby - I think we all kind of indulge when the weather is poorly - or at least, I certainly do.
Hope the workplace is a bit warmer this week.0 -
Heating at school was finally fixed by Wednesday afternoon. It was very cold in school.
I'm still battling a lingering cough from a cold, it's been 2 weeks. Can't wait for the lighter evenings and better weather.
Money wise, things are ticking along. I've finally ordered blinds for my kitchen, £300 and they are exactly what I want. Money will come out of savings. Need to get my tyres checked but working full time it's hard to get there.0 -
Wow it's ages since I've been one here. Busy at work and life just getting in the way.
All is good though. We had a lovely Mother's Day, my DP made a gorgeous lamb dinner and my parents came over, they've just been on a 9 week cruise so it was good to catch up.
I cashed out £50 from YouGov (took me 4 months this time) and along with another £6 from Pinecone I've paid £56 off my credit card. It's on 0% and I'm paying £100 off it every month anyway but any survey money is also going towards it too. I'm hoping it's cleared by October time. My car will also be clear by the end of the year and then the only debt I will have will be my kitchen which will be paid by June 2019.
Then it's the bathroom to be refurbished.
Savings are looking good too. Budgeting definitely helps.0 -
A 9 week cruise sounds amazing Louby!!!
Well done on the extra CC payments xxMummytogirls x0 -
Yes they are cruise addicts. They have another booked for September and then one booked for Jan 2019 which is half of a world cruise. They are ending in Oz and flying back (no doubt via Dubai, which they love)
They sold their narrow boat after 9 years so are spending the money from that! I've told them I don't want their money - enjoy and make memories!
Hope I'm as active and adventurous when I'm in my 70's!0 -
Not been on here for ages. Busy with work and kids and house.
Good Friday but still woke up at 6.30am, that will change once I start relaxing.
Money is looking good so far. Payday was Wednesday so everything was moved around etc and allocated in YNAB. MY 2 comfy kitchen chairs that I ordered on Boxing Day in the sale are arriving on Tuesday. Can't wait to see what they look like. I need to buy 2 cushions and a small coffee/side table but am waiting to see how big they are and what they look like first.
Quiet Friday at home but hair appointment later this afternoon - the works so it will be £50! We're taking the lads out for tea tomorrow. DP found a wowcher voucher for Frankie & Bennys, 2 courses and a drink for 2 for £20,so we bought 2 and thought we'd treat them.
Am planning on spending 2/3 afternoons in school next week as want to tidy my store room and sort a few things sorted out. Then I'm out with friends next Friday for drinks so that may be a bit spendy.
The following week DP and I are off to the Lakes for 3 days. Hoping the weather improves by then.
Happy Easter everyone :easter:0 -

Great to find out that EDF have refunded me £100 as I was so in credit with my gas and electric- never known an energy company do that without being prompted by the customer. They are also reducing our DD to £72 (from £81) as we're paying too much. I'm a bit stumped as we have had a really cold winter and have had the heating on loads. Still. I aren't complaining.
Had 2 new front tyres fitted yesterday, £92 and money was taken out of my car fund. I'm so pleased with myself having these little pots of money for things it really is the way forward. Once my car tax is up in July I'm paying for that annually too as it will be cheaper.
Nice meal last night with the boys. £40for 4 of us and DP and I reckon it would have been closer to £100 if we'd have been paying properly. We came home and the boys promptly went out to respective friends to watch the boxing!
Lazy day today. Bliss :j0
