Had a run-in with neighbour at the back of my house while in the garden earlier on.
They have a Bullmastiff dog which scares the life out of me.
Trying to do a bit of gardening it kept barking really aggressively at me:mad:
Heard Female call him in a few times, but dog carried on.
Eventually male came out and I could see him through a gap in the fence, so I politely asked him if he could stop his dog barking at me every time I was in the garden as it scared me.
Reply was you obviously don't like dogs (I do)
Told me it was my fault for gardening when his dog was out!
Told him his dog was intimidating, reply - it's a guard dog what do you expect:eek:
Pointed out I had every right to be in my garden without feeling threatened by his dog:(
Told me he had never heard anything so ridiculous and he was going to leave the dog out every time I was out there.

I know Bullmastiffs are classed as dangerous dogs, but just going to check if they are on any banned lists.

BullMastiffs are not on banned dogs list and are not automatically classed as dangerous dogs. Dogs are only classed as Dangerous Dogs if a respective Officer from Police has classified them as that after an attack incident. It is individual dogs classified by Police or Court

    Breeds banned in UK:
    The Pit Bull Terrier
    The Japanese Tosa
    The Dogo Argentino
    The Fila Brasileiro

I have done quite a bit of reading lately about Dangerous Dogs Act :(

All very quiet at mine, I was going to babysit as DD had VIP tickets for Take That at the Echo Arena tonight, but quite understandably it has been postponed out of respect for Manchester.

So I have been sorting out 3 months worth  of paperwork and receipts, very dull but it needed doing.

Determined now to get cash out instead of using debit card, then I can ditch the receipts on the same day. :)

    How are things with you?

I can understand them cancelling the event, we are supposed to be gong to a concert this weekend... I never really wanted to go, and not a really really do not want to do!

When you have done your paperwork will you come and do mine... pretty please... my house is a hole and needs organising - maybe mhoc will come and spend a few years! lol

The cash out is a good idea, I occasionally take £100 out and keep this in a purse to buy food for the month... but I am not that organised to keep it going for more than a month or two! .... but it does save lots of money and all the food at the back of the cupboard gets ate!

I was considering changing job.... and getting a proper job again..... clearly I was not thinking properly and was hormonal...... but now i have an interview on Tuesday... I was going to cancel, but OH told me not to... so instead I just e-mailed them to say that it is not convenient...:o:o:o:o:o I really do not think I could settle back into a normal job again.... my ideal job is to be a lady of the day!

shout at me as I am likely to be wrong.... but I am sure that they can be assessed by a police offer as dangerous before an attack....subject to their behaviour.

Yes, you are right, they can be classified before attack, I worded that poorly. They can be classified using history of aggressive behaviour. And I wouldn't shout at you :p

From what I have just read The Japanese Tosa and Bullmastiff are very similar and have often been interbreed. One site on dangerous dogs has the Tosa as No1 and the Bullmastiff as No 3 out of 33 breeds.

Around Xmas time, whilst at work I went to a house, when I sat down I put my bag down, an 8 week old staffy jumped in the bag... very cute and lots of laughter.... I later realised it had pooed in my bag.... that is a dangerous dog!

I'd much rather do other people's paperwork than my own, so yes, you're on!

Letting it mount up for so long was a mistake, made worse by the fact I kept leaving it out on display thinking that would prod me into doing it (a strategy which clearly failed!) Bundles of till receipts hanging about just made me feel endlessly guilty like I was some reckless spendthrift :rotfl:even though I always know roughly where I am financially.

    A proper job? You? :D

It would therefore be similar to the Pit Bull, a Registered Officer could be asked to assess the dog to see if it was 'type'. I have only heard of this being used for Pit Bulls, they assess if a dog is enought % to be classed as Pit Bull Type and thus banned. Many family pets have been seized and kept in kennels, never let out, for a year, while the courts decide whether they are 'type'
