Love the thunderstorm map. Nothing in our area at the moment, I think we're due some rain this evening.
What are people having for dinner when it's hot like this? We don't mind the odd salad but it doesn't seem very substantial as a main meal. I thought I might do paella tonight as no oven required and the hob is near the back door, which will be in shade by then lol.

also yesterday having been driven inside by the heat I started going through a pile of books, mostly OHs but some of mine and I got a nice pile of books to take to the Oxfam book bank - ours is conveniently situated next to the sainsbobs recycling

2 of the books were railways ones of OHs and so ancient there were only a few copies on Amazon so I listed these up and I then put them in the bookcase - I have a specific one for books I've listed on Amazon, often a book takes years to sell

One of them must have been on someones wish list because it sold last night, only about 5 hours after I listed it :D I will send it 2nd class signed for just to be on the safe side but after postage and fees that's another £17 or so for the 2018 Big Event

so even this heat has a silver lining - Oxfam have a big pile of books for selling (or shredding), a chap in Nottingham has a book off his wishlist which he will get before the weekend and we have £17 in the holiday pot

    Good morning all...

Perky...you asked about the colour of my walls....they look white but it's actually called cotton white from Laura Ashley...its just a little bit softer than a standard white and a bit of a more matt finish.

.....and the picture...well we've named it the "carib chooks"!

I tend to do cold sliced boiled new potatoes with our salads, gives a bit more substance.

Well, the clouds have arrived, though not expecting any rain for a while. It means I have actually drawn the curtains in the lounge.

I am off down Next in a while, have a look see if the bed we want is in the sale in the shop, unlikely as it is not in the sale on the website, but mistakes do happen .............
