Just getting to grd with the waitrosr picks etc - does the free newspaper only work with certain papers please? It didn't work on my DH's Express this morning.

Forget that - I've found the answer. Odd that the Sun works though.

It is weird... I initially thought that they may even refuse to stock it... :D:D

    Izzy what have you built?

Your council may be nice... ours is horrid and evil and not fit for purpose. It took 3.5 years to get planning permission. They did things like remove documents from the planning file that would support our case (i.e. confirming that a substantive start had begun). I worked for the authority, and found out by a random comment one of the customer services women said to me when she collected the file and they were taking docs out of it (they did not realise I always take presents for the customer service ladies at xmas nor that I worked for them.... whilst we won the complaint as we had to agree to no financial compensation before appealing we were still skint).

In reality they did not want the house build. Despite having a healthy balance to start (only start) a build we were eventually left with £500... and when we eventually had the government inspector on the land, the chief planning officer said that he thought the build was a really good idea.... I have never been so close to assaulting someone in my life!

The Bronze Age burial ground sounds really interesting. Around our plot there is some history from the 11 century.... but thank god nothing was found... or I may be working away from home forever! x

Yep self build guaranteed to turn you greyv:D, we bought a two bed bungalow with land so renovated the bungalow into a four bed then split the land and built a four bed to sell and kept a half acre for ourselves, a four bed 1.5 storey, each of the kids got a bedroom big enough for sitting area too with on suite and I have a purpose built treatment room for my dialysis , but I don't think I could do it again:rotfl:

Really sad today at work. One of the girls got a call from her boyfriend his best friend is away at royal welsh and had been told the road where his girlfriend lived had been closed of by police and wanted to know if they had heard anything as she lived nearby. He phones back 10 mins later his mate had been back on the phone in a right state, hisgirlfriend had been found dead in the garden . so sad she is only young and has a young child, and police are saying suspicious death. .

That sounds fantastic, the rooms sound amazing. Sorry to hear about dialysis, my dad had dialysis which took a hard toll on him x

I think I will be very old before we get it finished as we are restricted with money. I have been trying to keep living in our house as mum is really old, and she needs help, but today she has really upset/annoyed me that I feel like throwing my dummy out and moving into the garage (which could be habitable in a week) just to get away from her... I do need to take a deep breath.. and not over react. x

No I don't Lizzie.....I usually just get given stuff. I know when I first planted them they were dark reds and blues but I much prefer the more delicate colours that they've developed into.

Rhos so sorry, you seem to have such tragic times it's not fair :A ssm it's stressful enough having a parent that needs attention, my dad was as sharp as a tack but his body was done, he lost a leg and weighed 15 stone so pushing his wheelchair was a struggle for me but as both my brothers work it was me who did every thing, was quite funny when I was in hospital and my brother said, dads turning me nuts, but he was just used to me being able to do what he wanted, you'll get their with the build, one step at a time. :) night bed time.:)
