I've grown most of mine from cuttings and find they need very little attention. I have a friend who detests them with a passion and I think it's one of those love them or hate them types of bushes. But what's not to like? Even when the flower heads are skeletal and dying, I think they look beautiful....especially in frost.

Is yours getting leggy.......could it do with a prune?

No, its the opposite, no height at all :(. First winter/spring I cut it right down, then I read that you cut out old growth as flowers grow on one year old branches, so this winter I just left it. Perhaps ater it more might help :o:o My hose doesn't reach through house (and leaks at joint anyway) so it's watering can, and my back and knees aren't up to doing that too often. I hereby promise to water it more :o

Back after my few days at my sisters the family picnic at a fab park in Wantage. Went with dd and dgd. Picnic then interactive splash play for smaller ones the a huge game of rounders with 4 generations taking part. I had to sit it out this year as trapped my sciatic nerve on sat morning while washing my hair. Today I have got to the stage where I am alright sitting down or standing it's the bit in between I can't do. Even worse I can't drive to visit N. Another couple of days and will hopefully be a distant memory.
Had a lovely time sorting dad's photos. Many 1900 or earlier and we managed to put faces to names on the family tree. I think I am more fascinated with the postcards from 1900 to 1910. I know who caught what bus when and who met them hence building an idea of which family members were closest.
In other news I have eaten 5 strawberries from my garden now. Didn't plant many as wasn't sure if they were easy to grow.
