    Morning Elite,

To add to the Sipp conversation.

After reading info from Juju and Matty (thank you) and the pensions board I opened HL SIPP for OH putting in £2880 and leaving it in cash.
It was too late in this tax year for the £720 tax relief to be added before 5th April but I wanted to withdraw as much as possible this tax year to make use of his personal allowance as OH has retired 1 year early and has little or no income.

HL has a rule that requires you to leave a minimum of £1000 in a SIPP or they may close it. I called them to check how much I could withdraw this tax year and they said that it would be ok to withdraw £2600 leaving in £280 and they would not close account in the knowledge that the £720 tax relief would arrive in due course.

So pay in £2880, withdraw £2600 leaving £1000 in account once tax relief applied.

My understanding is that the scenario above only applies if you are not using up all of your personal allowance. I am, so have only done this for OH (although I believe there is still a small gain to be had even if you have to pay standard rate tax on the withdrawal)

As said earlier people must consider their own tax, income situations and seek their own assurances from HL.
I am just stating my own situation and am no expert.

    SnS

Am I right that to withdraw you need to be 55 years plus? Thanks

Yes that's right. The other thing that concerns me is that if you put in money from your savings, a SIPP is a pension fund so when you take some or all of it out it is surely treated as income ( although 25% is tax free). Savings are not taxed only the interest.

It's not quite as straightforward as it seems!

Morning all, I've done a C&C for razors today, fingers crossed its still going. Pick up at 4pm
  • Good morning lovely people

    Thanks Di,

I had a rummage through my recycling and found the box.
It is indeed Ondansetron 8mg tablets.

In the product information leaflet inside it clearly states:
To protect against delayed, or further, sickness a dose of 8mg of Ondansetron may be continued twice a day for up to 5 days after treatment.

So I will ask for more than 2 days worth in future.
    Thank you :A

It took me a couple of cycles to realise that the sickness didn't only kick in after a couple of days but when the ondansetrone ran out  definitely worth asking for also check they give you the same strength. I then got 4mg but doubled up and got another prescription from the out of hours gp. I actually cried when the doctor on the phone said he would send the prescription to the chemist for me
