Has anyone managed to find the Hovis thins? Every time I look in A there is just a big old empty space on the shelf where they ought to be.
I'm out this evening so won't be able to make the party I'm afraid, but feel free to borrow some chairs if you need them. I'll help with the clearing up when I get home :)

Can I please ask people's options on this please.

We have a cat which is 12 year old. Always slept on the bed but for last couple of months she has started waking up at 5.15 am jumping off bed and scratching on base of bed. I'm unable to fall back to sleep and it's having an effect on my health. Sometimes she gets up around 2 and makes lots of noise in the kitchen (bedroom just off kitchen diner). Anyway is it acceptable to shut the cat in the conservatory at night time for her to sleep on the 3 seater sofa please ? Welcome your replies as it's causing major disagreement with oh. Tia xx

As a dog person I do not know much about cats, but I had thought that before you go to bed you are supposed to open the back door, put the cat outside, close the door and go to bed... the following morning they return with a mouse or two and sleep during the day!

I'm livid if I'm honest as he would rather see me sleep on sofa indefinately than see the cat have a bed in conservatory. Not the first time this issue has come up :,( xx

Do you think there is any reason for the change in her behaviour at night?

No Ellie, there's no change at home or anything. She is just not as active during the day as she is getting old so sleeps more through day. She is still in good health and very playful xx

Does your OH not hear her in the night? I think if it was me I would be in the spare room and let her sleep in the room with him and he'll have to get up to deal with her during the night. You need your sleep.

To be fair, I can see where he is coming from Cjj, sorry. I am probably daft, bu think animals are part of the family, and if it was a child waking people up, they would not get put in the conservatory. The other week when Rebecca was not well, I was all prepared to sleep on the sofa as she could not get up the stairs.
I also know that not everyone is like that, and am not saying who is right or wrong, just that I can understand why he let the cat out.

we have to shut our toms in at night, the kitchen door closes off the rest of the house. They have water, dry and wet food and a litter tray plus an array of sleeping areas and blankets so they don't need to even see each other. also all curtains are closed so the outside does not worry them.
cats are supposed to be nocturnal but ours are not, quite often they will be asleep on the sofa and not move until morning

occasional we have an open door policy where they can roam the house and that's exactly what happens - lots of treading up and down stairs, bed jumping, cats snuggling up and taking over beds in the small hours and purring in your ear - no one gets any sleep

Sophie the tortoishell always sleeps with her dad and she hates it if Ronnie tries to invade her space, the main bedroom is her territory and only hers and she will chase him out

curfew time is 10 and all cats have to be home by then which is not easy on summer nights when it's nice and warm and the hunting is good :rotfl:

    such fun :)
