Evening all planning to take grand son to the science museum in London tomorrow can any one let me what underground line from Victoria station and what stop to get off at also do children 6 years have to pay on the underground we are coming up by train to london which the lad has to pay. thanks

DS and I have had a trip to London today to see play he is studying for GCSE English. We had an off peak family day travel card. This included travel from Bham to London and travel zones 1-6. So Underground was free. Not sure how I found this. I think it popped up on The Train Line. (Bit of a fail, as we did not think ahead to get a Friends and Family rail card).

Good day. DS is good company. We have both done school work on the train! :D

I didn't get the 1000 Virgin Nectar points added yet, even though it's now 28 days since the transaction - did anybody get them?

    Not had mine yet either.

But I did get a 452 point bonus yesterday. I have no idea what this is for. Not done any other offers I can think of, unless I won a prize??

Oh dear me, I have to ask eldest child now where about in the proceedings OHs speech will be.
I am worried that OH who has very little grasp of political correctness will do a speech along the lines of Les Dawson and will see how many of the guests he can insult - Londonders, Americans, mothers in law, anyone Nouveua riche, anyone rotund of shape, anyone with a Leeds accent .... :rotfl:

at least we don't over do speeches like the Swedes do :)

My Father used to write very good speeches and did the favour a few times for others.

I hope your dd and her new husband have practised a first dance. Seems to be quite the thing now to entertain their guests.

Back from London. I must say DKMS made all the arrangements very well and we had a lovely hotel, Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes, in Baker Street obviously. I am so proud of my daughter as she had to donate 2 days running for 4 hours at a time. Seems she just needed an extra injection as smashed her target today.
To think if it takes she could cure someone's blood cancer is truly humbling. Learnt so much about the processes, ethics and huge costs. The matching is not done on dna alone, a sibling has a 1 in 4 chance of being a match a parent a 50% chance. The nurse was telling us that the person whom she was matched with shares her ancestry. Might be in the dim and distant past but they are related.
I watched that programme a few weeks ago where thousands of people were profiled and 11 were invited into a studio where they were individually told their genetic ancestry. Then they were told that all 11 of them had a common denominator and all 11 had shared ancestry.

Unlike Anthony Nolan who only accept onto the register until you are 30, DKMS have a much wider age criteria. They are crying out for all donors and Germany is way ahead of us on percentage of population. Mixed race matches are the hardest to find.
No one takes priority this is something money can not buy.

The cost of performing a stem cell transplant is more than my house and car put together and I live in the south and drive a nice car.

To go on the register is a simple mouth swab and they are curing cancer so please if you are fit and healthy get In touch with them for a kit. If you stayed on the register for 10 years there is still only a 4% chance of you being a match. Registers are shared worldwide so you only need to register once.

Ok off my soap box now but please give this a thought.

Lol, I have more than sufficient already. But I like the anticipation of it :D
We had a rather fab bottle at the weekend which came from our last purchase https://www.tesco.com/wine/product/details/default.aspx?searchBox=brancott+terroir&search.x=0&search.y=0&id=285301902

I can't say I noticed the underlying nettle nuances though :o
    Please define sufficient :rotfl:

Just received one of those inthis order:j
