Good morning all, lovely spring-like day out there :D

Those last words are what you needed to hear :T:T

My DDs best friend's mother had breast cancer, but was cured as much as can be. She always was a drinker, but after her cancer she got the idea she was a victim rather than a survivor, she became an alcoholic and drank herself to death :( She died in hospital on election day 2015 just weeks before her granddaughter was born :(

So I am delighted when an alcoholic actually manages to beat the demon, and if he hasn't had a drink for 9 years he has come as close to curing himself as anyone will :T:T

My brother in law i also an alcoholic and stopped drinking 13 years ago ( but does have the occasional slip - he is disabled and sometimes it becomes too much for him ) and he always says there is a quantity of booze for everyone but some drink their share faster than others.
He cant even remember the 1st month after giving up as he was on Librium and spaced out.
He came yesterday as we are clearing the shed for him to bring his tools back and then he had to come again in the evening as Mum broke her zimmer frame. He is also the taxi for all the family when they want to go out drinking and doesnt mind picking up no matter what time it is.
I have saved on my old laptop the thread I wrote at that time and it makes for heartbreaking reading. But there were a few people on there who were very encouraging and gave good advice. A bit like the Elite!
